Chapter 75: You’re Really Naive and Loaded
Benedict was utterly baffled as the police cuffed him and hauled him away. “What? Why are you arresting me?” he shouted. One of the officers held up a crumpled piece of paper retrieved from Benedict’s car. “We just found these illegal drugs in your vehicle.” The officer opened the paper, revealing a few suspicious pills inside.
“This can’t be! How is that possible? How could these be in my car? I specifically put them in—” Benedict’s panic caused him to nearly blurt out his plan before catching himself. But his unfinished sentence already made it clear the contraband was tied to him.
Benedict was in a full-blown panic, unable to comprehend how the items he had stashed in Benjamin’s car had somehow ended up back in his own. Just as he tried to stammer out an explanation, a sudden flash of light illuminated the scene. Out of nowhere, a group of reporters emerged, cameras snapping furiously as they documented Benedict’s arrest and the police holding the contraband.
Benedict froze in disbelief. These reporters… he had called them. His plan had been to ensure the news of Benjamin’s arrest would spread instantly, leaving the family with no chance to contain the damage. But now, his own scheme had backfired spectacularly, and he was the one in front of the cameras.
“Stop filming! Stop!” Benedict roared, clutching his head as the relentless flashes continued. It was over. Completely over. Everything was spiraling out of control, far beyond what Benedict had anticipated.
“What the heck? Where did all these reporters come from?” Lucas asked, staring in shock at the sudden swarm of journalists. “Do they have some kind of psychic powers? How else would they know to show up here?”
Olivia’s smile deepened as she watched the reporters document the chaos. “They don’t have psychic powers. Someone tipped them off that there would be breaking news tonight on Mt. Hevana.”
“What?” Lucas was still processing.
Benjamin, however, pieced together the events of the night and realized something wasn’t right. “That stuff… Did you put it in Benedict’s car?” Benjamin asked, looking at Olivia, venturing a bold guess.

Lucas turned to Olivia in disbelief. “Mr. Benjamin, you’ve got to be kidding. There’s no way Olivia could’ve…”
“Yes,” Olivia admitted without hesitation. Lucas froze. “I was just returning it to its rightful owner,” she said with a smirk.
“So it really was in my car at first?” Benjamin wasn’t stupid. He had already deduced the truth. Olivia glanced at Benedict being shoved into the back of a police car, then turned back to Benjamin.
“Yep. Your dear little brother even arranged for reporters to be here. Even with the Moore family’s power, there’s no way they’d be able to suppress this kind of news overnight. By tomorrow morning, the headline will be all about ‘The Moore Family’s Second Son Found in Possession of Illegal Drugs.’”
Benjamin fell silent. He hadn’t realized Benedict hated him enough to try to destroy him completely. If Olivia hadn’t stepped in, he would’ve been the one arrested tonight. With so many reporters present, even if the Moore family found out immediately, there would be no way to silence every outlet in time. Once the news broke, it would be as good as a death sentence. He’d lose his place as the Moore family’s heir, forever. That was way too close.
“Thank you… for what you did tonight,” Benjamin said, his voice heavy. His gaze at Olivia turned more complex, seeing her in a completely new light. The girl who had first caught his interest had just saved his life in the most critical moment.
“Benjamin, you’re really naive and loaded,” Olivia said, her tone sharp but amused. “If you’re going to lend something out, you should always check it carefully when you get it back.”
