Chapter 83: I Didnโt Do Anything to You, Right?
Alexander had planned to sleep peacefully, but a certain someone seemed determined to ruin his night. Olivia clung to him as if her life depended on it, using her hands, feetโher whole bodyโto press herself against him, leaving no space between them.
Alexanderโs throat felt dry. In the dim light, his eyes flickered toward Oliviaโs sleeping face. This womanโฆ Is she really asleep?
Olivia was, in fact, sound asleep, but how could Alexander possibly relax under these circumstances? With a deep breath, he pried her hands and legs off him. Frustrated by her unconscious squirming, he grabbed a rope and tied her up to keep her from moving. Then, without a word, he went to take a cold shower.
The next morning, Olivia groggily woke up and instinctively tried to stretch, only to realize she was tied up! What the heck is going on? Did I get kidnapped while I was taking a bath?
Struggling against the ropes, Olivia twisted and turned on the bed, making enough noise to wake Alexander, who had only just fallen asleep. Alexander opened his eyes slowly, his furrowed brows and dark circles clearly showing how poorly heโd slept.
Though tied up, Olivia didnโt let that stop her. She flopped and rolled around the bed with gusto. Alexander had lost count of how many cold showers heโd taken the night before. Just as he finally managed to get some rest, Oliviaโs chaotic movements jolted him awake.
โAlexander, did you tie me up?โ Olivia glared at him.
Alexander sat up and rubbed his aching temples. The fact that he hadnโt strangled her yet was a testament to his patience.
โWhy did you tie me up? I even took a cold bath last night. Itโs not like I was going to do anything to youโฆโ Olivia muttered. Does he think Iโm that desperate? she thought incredulously. Was tying her up really necessary?
Hearing her protest, Alexander raised an eyebrow. Without a word, he took off his shirt, revealing his arms and neck, both marked with visible scratches.
โNot going to do anything to me?โ he asked, his tone cool.
The marks were the result of Oliviaโs resistance when he had tried to pull her off him last night.
Olivia froze, staring at the scratches on his neck and chest, her mind blank. The door had been locked all night, and the only people in the room were her and Alexander. There was no way Alexander could have scratched himself like thatโฆ.
โDid I do that?โ Oliviaโs voice dropped to a whisper. She vaguely remembered falling asleep in the bath, but she had no recollection of doing that to Alexander. How strong was the effect of that soup?
โI didnโtโฆ do anything to you, right?โ she asked hesitantly, though even she didnโt believe herself.
โWhat exactly were you planning to do?โ Alexander replied, giving her a calm, indifferent glance.
Mortified, Olivia buried her face in the pillow. This is a disaster! I wasnโt trying to do anything!
Just then, there was a soft click at the door. Someone had unlocked it from the outside but didnโt enter. Instead, the sound of retreating footsteps echoed down the hall.
Alexander got out of bed, went to the bathroom to wash up, and changed into a fresh set of clothes. Meanwhile, Olivia, still tied up, could only wriggle helplessly on the bed.
โWait! Arenโt you going to untie me?โ she shouted after him.
Alexander looked at herโnow fully tangled in the blankets from all her rolling. โUntie yourself,โ he said flatly before walking out of the room.
Olivia opened her mouth to yell again, but the sight of her current state made her words catch in her throat. In her shock at waking up tied up, she hadnโt noticed one crucial detail. She wasnโt wearing any clothes.
Her face turned beet red in an instant. Even in my previous life, when I was hopelessly in love with Alexander, I never stripped this bare in front of him! And now, in this life, when Iโve given up and vowed to keep my distanceโฆ
Olivia buried her face in the pillow again. I want to die.
