Chapter 182

Tiana’s expression turned cold as she saw Vance and Khloe appear suddenly. “Why should I attend your wedding? Khloe has betrayed me countless times. Why should I go out of my way to bless you two?”

“Do you really think I would attend your wedding?” Tiana thought. ‘Isn’t making my own money and living my life more satisfying?’ She finally realized that when a woman shines on her own, she naturally draws attention.

There’s no need to chase after someone else’s light. For Vance, she wasted six years, the most regretful thing she ever did.

Khloe glared at Tiana. Khloe had won, but felt like she had lost even more. Tiana was more beautiful than before and came from a good family. Khloe had always been jealous of Tiana, which was why she had tried to sabotage her.

Without those schemes, she wouldn’t have gotten Vance. Even if Vance was poor, he could still provide her with a carefree life. Someone who had never experienced poverty couldn’t understand her feelings.

Vance looked at Tiana’s delicate face. After a year, she had truly become more beautiful. Once, Tiana had been all about him, but now she only showed coldness, and she wanted to meet other men. The man she wanted to see was Natalie’s brother.

True affection can’t be hidden; the eyes don’t lie. Vance thought, “In the past, her gaze always followed me, never wavering or hiding her feelings. But now, her eyes were cold. This was something he couldn’t accept.”

Vance said, “Tiana, I know you have misunderstandings about Khloe. I am sending you the wedding invitation because I want you to see how happy we are. Khloe isn’t as terrible as you say.”

These words were a direct stab to Tiana’s heart. Tiana hated Khloe with a passion, and the hatred was evident on her face.

“Vance, whether you two get married has nothing to do with me. You don’t need to put on a show for me. Even if you have a bunch of kids, it still has nothing to do with me."

“What gives you the nerve to send me a wedding invitation?”

Vance smiled wickedly. “I just want you to see our happiness. Without you, Khloe and I will be even happier.”

“I stopped meddling in your affairs a year ago. You two are already very happy. Now you’re flaunting it in front of me. Haven’t you heard the saying, showing off love leads to a quick end?”

“I heard that Mrs. Simpson kicked you out. Vance, you’ve been gone for a year, and during that time, I’ve worked hard. The gap between us is now worlds apart. So, stay away from me.”

Tiana shot back without any hesitation. She thought, “Vance wasn’t worth my time. Over the past year, she had changed a lot. She no longer subconsciously paid attention to everything related to Vance. Instead, she focused on financial news and the stock market.”

Tiana thought, “I loved him for six years; he had forgotten me in just one year. Doing foolish things for a selfish man really is foolish. Luckily, I woke up in time and cut my losses.”

“Tiana, my good friend–”

“What kind of friend am I to you? Vance, you make me feel sick. If you didn’t like me, you could have rejected me. But you wanted it both ways, enjoying my kindness while chasing after Khloe."

“I really regret ever liking a piece of trash like you. Even if I loved you, I never regretted it. I was brave and sincere, loving and hating openly. I didn’t do anything wrong."

“On what grounds do you demand that I attend your wedding? Don’t you just want me to see your happiness? You’re already happy, and you’ve achieved your goals."

“I’ve been away from you for a year. What more do you want?” Tiana’s voice was full of accusation.

Vance’s face turned red, and his neck flushed as Tiana exposed him, probably feeling extremely embarrassed. Tiana’s change in attitude toward him made him feel uneasy.

He got a twisted thrill from the idea of Tiana seeing him happy, especially after she’d ranted about how Khloe wasn’t a good woman and that he’d never be happy if he married her.

So, once the wedding date was set, he couldn’t wait to send her a message, but he hadn’t expected Tiana to flat-out refuse to come to his wedding.

In life, everything was going smoothly for Vance, filled with success and good fortune. Everything was perfect except for being kicked out by his mom.

“Tiana, I know you’re mad, but we’ve been friends since we were kids. You’ll find someone better.” He tried to soften the blow.

“Of course, I will. Trash belongs in the dumpster. You two deserve each other; don’t come near me again,” Tiana said, placing the last lobster on Natalie’s plate.

She winked at Natalie. “Natalie, eat up. When Gordon gets back, introduce him to me. I’ve got my eye on him.”

Natalie smiled, “Sure thing!”

Tiana focused on her food, avoiding Vance’s eyes. Vance fumed. “Natalie, did you tell Tiana something?”

“Yup, Natalie, I heard you ditched the Simpson family and went around badmouthing the Simpsons. If you did something wrong, why drag your brother through the mud?” Khloe added, stirring the pot.

Natalie glanced at Khloe with cold eyes. “She is using the same old tricks again. The people around the Simpson family’s sons are all arranged by Jennifer. They all have one thing in common—they love to turn things around and blame others.”

“Khloe, do you really think that having only Vance trust you is enough for you to sleep soundly?” Natalie asked.

Khloe looked at Natalie with teary eyes. “Natalie, are you jealous that Vance is nice to me?”

“Ugh…” Tiana was thoroughly grossed out by Khloe’s act.

“Tiana, you…” Khloe pretended to cry, her voice quivering.

Tiana’s eyes blazed with fury. “Natalie, our dinner was interrupted, and we had to deal with those scum. How about we go somewhere else to eat?”

Natalie glanced at the table loaded with seafood, feeling a pang of guilt. It was all money spent. “No need, Tiana. They can yap all they want; we’ll eat our fill.”

Tiana looked at Vance, flashing a bright, sarcastic smile. “Congrats, Vance. You two are a match made in heaven. Be sure to be happy together.” Vance was taken aback, feeling very irritated by her sarcastic blessing.

Tiana turned back to Natalie, chatting away as if no one else was there. “Natalie, I heard you’re the new fashion design director now. Do you need any models? I’ve been training a batch, planning to take them for a beach show.”

Natalie was actually looking for female models. She nodded. “I’ve signed ten male models already, but I still need ten girls. Our company’s joining the winter fashion show.”

“Awesome! Let’s work together. When I get back from my business trip, I’ll take you to my place. The models I trained are top-notch.”

This trip was all about organizing the beach show, her family being the main sponsor to boost their profile.

Natalie pondered, “A successful beach show could also raise my profile. Tiana, let’s collaborate. I’ve gotten male models here; they’ve been training well.”

“I’m thinking of expanding our menswear line too. Talk it over with Mr. Gillett, and I’ll send you the plan tomorrow. If it sounds good, we’re on.”
