Chapter 233
Natalie curved her lips into a slight smile, her bright eyes twinkling with amusement. "Talk about what? Thereโs nothing to discuss between us except divorce."
Eastonโs heart tightened at the word "divorce." Anger burned in his eyes; he didnโt want a divorce. โGrandpa and grandma wonโt agree to us getting divorced. They care about you dearly. Have you so quickly forgotten how good theyโve been to you?โ
Easton didnโt look at Natalie. He felt guilty, knowing his excuse was flimsy, but it was the only one he had.
When a person stopped caring, nothing could be her weakness. She used to care about the Simpson family and showed a lot of tolerance, but now she didnโt care about anything anymore.
Natalie didnโt care about anything anymore. Nothing could threaten her.
Thinking of Emma, Natalie felt conflicted. โI havenโt forgotten how good Grandpa and Grandma were. Their kindness is not related to you. I can still visit them after our divorce."
Easton furrowed his brows but didnโt say anything, just looked at her intently.
โEaston, why didnโt you wait for me? Iโm wearing high heels, and I just twisted my ankle. It really hurts.โ Jennifer walked up to Easton, holding onto his arm affectionately.
Easton didnโt refuse. He just gave her a glance and said, โThe paths here arenโt easy to walk on. Why are you wearing high heels? Go back and change. Iโll wait for you here.โ
Hearing this, Natalie realized they were sharing a room, and her heart ached involuntarily.
Even though she knew theyโd been involved for a while, it still made her sad. After all, she had truly loved Easton, so feeling the pain was natural.
Jennifer smiled warmly. โEaston, itโs okay. Iโll change when we reach the filming location. My manager got plenty of shoes for me,โ she said, glancing at Natalie.
She didnโt react at all, as indifferent as if they were just strangers. Natalie had really changed. She genuinely didnโt want anything to do with Easton anymore.
Natalie ignored the coupleโs affection and stepped quickly into the elevator when it arrived.
Jennifer grabbed Eastonโs hand and hurried into the elevator, too. A trace of malice flashed in Jenniferโs eyes.
โOops!โ She pretended to lose her balance and fell into Eastonโs arms.
Easton frowned but still held Jennifer gently, saying, โBe careful.โ
His gaze shifted to Natalie, and he saw her bright smile, as beautiful as the melting of snow and the arrival of spring โ stunningly beautiful.
She was looking down at her phone, and a message from someone had her smiling like she was in love.
Jennifer noticed it too. Natalieโs beautiful face no longer hid her emotions, making Jennifer jealous.
She took the opportunity to say, โEaston, look at Natalieโs expression. Itโs like sheโs in love, sheโs smiling so happily. Whoโs the good-looking guy on the other end making her so joyful?โ
Implying that Natalie was chatting with some random guy, Natalie had just replied to Jacobโs message. His grandmaโs condition was quite good.
She heard Jenniferโs words and suddenly looked up, raising her hand. Jenniferโs face bore the brunt of a hard slap.
Jenniferโs eyes widened in disbelief. โNatalie, you hit me!"
Natalie said, โI slapped you because you deserved it. Why does garbage come out every time you open your mouth?โ
โYouโโ
Natalie interrupted her with a smile, her eyes wide with anger as she taunted. โYouโre so eager to be the other woman, and youโre constantly trying to set me up?
โYouโre always seen with Easton every day, and thatโs enough proof that youโre the other woman. Just wait for your movie to premiere.
โIโll expose your pictures together, give those bedroom photos you sent me to the press, and then reveal Eastonโs marriage license. Jennifer, your life will be hell from then on.
โAnd your face is as tough as a rock in a latrine; no matter how hard I try, you wonโt feel anything.
โIf I hear you speak lies about me again, Iโll make sure those white teeth of yours disappear for good.โ Jennifer was so angry she could spit blood. She thought Natalie had gone crazy. โNatalie, youโre crazy.โ
โThatโs right. Iโm crazy. If I werenโt, you and your group of cheaters wouldโve crushed me completely.โ Natalie said, her gaze icy.
โJennifer, Iโm warning you. You set me up once, and Iโll hit you once. I survived just to drag you all down to hell with me.โ Once Natalie finished speaking, the elevator doors opened. She walked away like she didnโt recognize anyone.
Easton chased after her and blocked Natalieโs path with a firm stance. โNatalie, where are you going?โ Natalie frowned, really annoyed by him.
โEaston, youโre truly getting on my nerves. Can you just stay away from me?โ Natalie snapped, exasperated.
Seeing the impatience in her eyes, Easton finally realized that Natalie really didnโt love him anymore. โYouโre my wife. I have the right to know where youโre going.โ
Natalie laughed in irritation, feeling somewhat oppressed by his overbearing presence. She mocked, โEaston, when you spend 1.5 million dollars a month on your mistress, do you ever remember thereโs a wife at home?โ
Jennifer walked over with a smile. โNatalie, Easton willingly gave me that money. I saved his life, and Iโm the one he loves the most. If he doesnโt spend his money on me, then who should he spend it on?โ
Jennifer looked at her with arrogance, her face full of defiance. Natalie was disgusted by her shamelessness.
Natalie said, โJennifer, donโt worry, feel free to spend it all. Once the two years are up, Iโll file for divorce, and Iโll take back everything he gave you during the marriage. Easton may adore you, but I have the marriage license.โ
Natalieโs smile was dazzling, and she was in a great mood. She looked at Easton and said, โMr. Garcia, the more you give her, the more Iโll take back later.โ Natalie walked away with a bright smile.
Jenniferโs eyes were filled with intention to kill. She thought, โNatalie, if I kill you here, Iโm afraid not even your remains would be found.โ
Easton glared angrily at Natalieโs retreating figure, completely missing the murderous look in Jenniferโs eyes.
After Natalie went out, she headed straight to the hospital.
Jennifer texted Oliver, telling him to keep an eye on Natalie, and then asked Easton to drive her to the film set.
Chapter 233
When Natalie arrived at the hospital, Tiana was still waiting outside the emergency room. She hadnโt had time to speak before the emergency room doors swung open.
Vance was wheeled out, lying motionless on the bed.
Tiana looked at the attending doctor and asked, โDoctor, how is he? Is his leg damaged?โ
The doctor was taken aback, surprised by the bluntness of the question.
He replied. โThis gentlemanโs leg isnโt damaged. After the surgery, he wonโt be able to do any heavy work for six months, and heโll never be able to run or jump again. It all depends on his recovery later.โ
Tiana carefully asked again, โWill he die?โ
