George was stunned. Declan was also taken aback. The other few followers standing by were also dumbfounded. Then, under the open night sky, they burst into laughter.

George laughed out loud. He said, “Haha, damn, I’m… laughing so hard… my stomach hurts!”

Seeing those laughing crazily, Natalie worried they’d laugh so hard they might faint. If that happened, she’d be in big trouble.

She looked at them with concern and kindly said, “Guys, stop laughing. Haven’t you ever heard of someone laughing themselves to death?”

Hearing this, everyone felt speechless. But her words effectively stopped their laughter.

Tears formed in Declan’s eyes from laughing so much. He looked at Natalie and said, “Natalie, are you out of your mind after the divorce? Do you seriously want to challenge Mr. Wright? Are you crazy, or am I just hearing things?”

Natalie didn’t even glance at Declan.

She stood tall with perfect proportions; her hair was tousled by the cold wind, giving her face a dreamy beauty under the moonlight.

She took a hair tie from her bag, pulled her hair into a ponytail, and said, “George, you heard me right. I do want to challenge you. I want to race you, but we need to make a wager.”

George couldn’t help but chuckle as he looked at Natalie intently. He remarked inside, ‘Her face is indeed very pretty, and she is brave.’

He said, “Girl, with your tiny frame, do you think your legs are strong enough to hit the brakes? Can you handle the steering wheel, with your slender hands?”

“Do you even know how to drive a race car? If you want to race me, you better qualify first.” His tone was full of mockery.

The group of underlings beside George also looked at Natalie with contempt.

Natalie was speechless, thinking, ‘How am I suddenly not qualified?’

She said, “Mr. Wright, I won’t waste your time. If I win, you’ll sell me that piece of land at the foot of the mountain in the southern part of the city.”

George was momentarily surprised. He wondered, “That patch of land is so undesirable that no one would take it even if given for free. What does she want to do with it?”

He asked with curiosity, “What do you want that land for?”

Natalie said with a smile, “To build a house, of course. The scenery there is beautiful, and I really like it.”

George thought Natalie was out of her mind. Buying such a big piece of land just to build a place to live. He smiled and asked, “Do you have the money?”

Natalie was speechless. She thought, ‘How could he ask such a naïve question?’

She replied, “Would I be daring you if I didn’t have the money? Or are you scared to lose?” Her last words were full of mockery.

George’s eyes turned dark suddenly. He was furious at hearing Natalie say he was scared to lose. He pointed at Declan, grinning and asking, “And what about Declan?”

Natalie didn’t look at Declan. She calmly asked, “Mr. Wright, why would I save such a useless person who can’t tell right from wrong and takes pleasure in bullying me?”

Declan shouted, “Natalie, how dare you call me useless! I asked you here to help me, not to buy property!” Even now, Declan held onto a shred of hope.

Only then did Natalie turn around and give Declan a look. She laughed mockingly, her tone light, saying, “What else could you be but useless? Your mom cut off your allowance, and you can’t even come up with 300 thousand dollars.”

“While your mom is stressed out with the company’s issues, you’re still out here partying and gambling with others.”

“You four brothers and your adorable little sister, besides partying, do any of you even think about your hardworking mom?”

Declan was at a loss. He had been partying wildly recently, even going overseas to participate in a motorcycle race. He hadn’t paid attention to anything going on at home.

Declan sneered, “Natalie, the Simpson family matters are none of your business. Just help me out.”

Natalie laughed in exasperation. Being so naive at his age was truly ridiculous. She found herself laughable too. She had thrown away her life for that cheap sense of family.

She said, “Declan, you said it yourself: the Simpson family matters are not my concern, so why do you think I would help you?”

Declan said, “Natalie, don’t be so cruel.” He noticed the seriousness in Natalie’s eyes and felt a pang of fear.

Natalie said, “Does not saving you make me evil? What about when you hit me or cursed me? Didn’t you think you were being evil then?”

“And when you were planning to hand me over to these guys to ruin me, did you not think that was evil?”

“Declan, I’ve recorded everything that happened tonight. After the competition, I’m going to give that recording to the police. If you think you can get away with what you did to me, think again, because I will pursue it to the end.”

Declan called, “Natalie…”

Natalie slapped Declan again. She mocked him, “Can’t you just shut your mouth? You’re so loud. Save your speeches for the cops, why don’t you?”

“For the past two years, you and Jennifer have messed with me. I am gonna throw it all back at you.”

Declan looked at Natalie in shock. He said, “I’m your brother. How dare you treat me like this?”

He thought, ‘Natalie has really changed. He could see she used to cherish the Simpson family ties, which was why she tolerated their endless abuse.

They only wanted the outstanding Jennifer to be their sister. Natalie could never rise to their expectations.”

Natalie said, “Do you really think you’re fit to be my brother? I, Natalie, will never have anything to do with the Simpson family again. I’ll be watching as the devil drags you all to hell.”

Then, she turned to look at George and said coldly, “Mr. Wright, if you’re ready, let’s begin.”

Realizing Natalie meant business, George smiled and asked, “How do you want to compete?”

Natalie pointed to the most challenging track not far from them and said, “I want to race you on the hardest track. Whoever reaches the finish line first wins.”

Declan shouted, “Natalie, do you even know how to drive a race car? And you want to race on the hardest track? Are you crazy?”

Natalie turned around angrily to look at Declan coldly. She said, “You jerk, can you just shut that annoying mouth of yours?”

Declan shouted, “You…” He stomped his foot in frustration, thinking, ‘How dared she call me a jerk.’

George laughed arrogantly. He said, “Alright, Ms. Shawn, you can pick any car over there. If you win, I’ll give you the land. But if you lose, you’ll have to be my secret girlfriend for a year.”

Natalie replied, “Okay, I agree.” She pointed to the red sports cars and said, “I’ll take the red one.”

George sneered, “Don’t you know that’s the worst car among them?”

Natalie didn’t reply. She just gave George a bright smile and headed towards the car.

Someone whistled and said, “Such a pretty girl. It’s a shame if she crashes and doesn’t make it back.”

Everyone was waiting to see the show.

Declan had a grim look and said, “She’s so wicked. It’s better if she’s gone.”
