Chapter 274

Panicked, Natalie stood frozen in place.

As the car raced toward her, she swiftly leaped up, using tremendous strength to propel herself, landing right on the hood of the car.

The front of the car crashed violently into the bridge, and because of inertia, Natalie was thrown hard against the bridge.

The huge impact flung her onto the bridge, leaving Natalieโ€™s mind blank and her whole body in terrible pain.

Immediately, her head began to buzz, but her survival instinct quickly took over her mind. She endured the intense pain and looked up, seeing a man sitting in the driverโ€™s seat, glaring at her with a sinister smile.

Natalie frowned, realizing he had done it deliberately.

She wondered who this man was. She had never met him before; she couldnโ€™t recall ever having seen this man. Her vision was blurry, and her whole body ached. She sat slumped on the hood, trying hard to remember who the man in the car was.

โ€œHurriedly call 911 for help.โ€ The cops on duty under the bridge saw this and two of them ran over to help.

Seeing them, Natalie finally felt some hope. The sharp pain in her body was unbearable.

Seeing the officers, she said, โ€œPlease take me to Everwell Hospital; thank you.โ€

After she said this, she fainted.

Coincidentally, a reporter was on this road reporting a traffic accident and captured the whole scene, posting it online. The driver was a young man. After getting out of the car, a reporter asked him, โ€œSir, why did your car hit this young lady?โ€

The man sneered and said, โ€œMy carโ€™s brakes failed. I can only say sorry to the victim. As for compensation, as long as sheโ€™s not too demanding, I can offer her 300 thousand dollars.โ€

His tone was extremely arrogant. Even the reporter was angered by his words. This driver was too arrogant, not valuing human life at all.

The reporter glanced at the luxury car; it was very expensive, no wonder he was so arrogant.

The reporter asked, โ€œSir, donโ€™t you care about what happens to the victim?โ€

He replied with a sinister smile, โ€œLife and death are predestined. If she died from just one collision, thatโ€™s her own bad luck. What does it have to do with me? Iโ€™m only responsible for compensation.โ€

The man kept up his arrogant attitude.

This incident quickly became a trending topic.

While getting ready to go to the party at home, Murray saw the news and realized his cousin Davian Spencer had hit Natalie.

He shouted angrily, โ€œGrandma, that jerk Davian has gone too far!โ€

Emma watched the news showing the arrogant Davian, her eyes flashing with a peculiar light. โ€œMurray, your uncleโ€™s family has always wanted the heirโ€™s position.

โ€œOver the years, Maxwell has never dropped this idea. If Natalie hadnโ€™t gotten involved in our family affairs, who do you think would benefit the most?โ€

Murrayโ€™s heart skipped a beat, and a look of panic appeared on his face. โ€œGrandma, if Natalie hadnโ€™t stepped in, Jennifer would have succeeded and Maxwellโ€™s family would have benefited the most.โ€

He wasnโ€™t completely clueless, and Emma nodded with relief and muttered, โ€œThatโ€™s right. If she hadnโ€™t stepped in, you and your father would have been in trouble a long time ago.

โ€œIf that really happened, your mom and I wouldnโ€™t be able to hold on. In that case, Maxwell would have taken advantage of the situation and colluded with Jennifer, and the Spencer family would truly be done for.

โ€œLook at how arrogant Davian is; heโ€™s doing it on purpose. But why did Natalie go to that bridge?

โ€œGrandma, Iโ€™ll go check on Natalie now.โ€

Emma nodded slightly. โ€œGo ahead; since weโ€™ve decided to side with Natalie, you should protect her and yourself.

โ€œJennifer and Maxwell didnโ€™t get what they wanted; they definitely wonโ€™t let you off. Iโ€™ve checked and found out that Maxwell and Jennifer did interact with each other.

โ€œTodayโ€™s events have made me absolutely sure of it. Davian took out his anger on Natalie because his plan failed.

โ€œMurray, you need to grow up right away after all thatโ€™s happened. Otherwise, I canโ€™t have peace of mind. Your dad survived this time, but he might not get lucky next time. I had him stay abroad to identify Jenniferโ€™s men there.

โ€œOur family can only be saved if we defeat them and keep them out of Shagrity.

โ€œI will attend the dinner.โ€

She was getting old; she didnโ€™t have much time left. She would defend the Spencer familyโ€™s centuryโ€“old foundation as long as she lived.

โ€œGot it, Grandma.โ€ Murray went to the hospital to see Natalie.

Natalie was taken to the hospital. This was her own hospital, and with Chris here, she felt at ease.

On the way, after being revived by the EMTs, she called Chris to have him examine her.

After the call, Natalie closed her eyes to rest. Thinking of Eastonโ€™s indifference filled her with bitterness.

She did everything in her power to save this man, but he consistently showed her no compassion.

Natalie closed her eyes. Even though she didnโ€™t want to cry, tears still formed at the corners of her eyes. Looking at Natalie, the male doctor saw that her fragile, tearโ€“streaked face added to her beauty.

The scene made him heartache, and he gently comforted Natalie, โ€œMiss, donโ€™t cry. Weโ€™ll be at the hospital soon. You can tell me where you feel pain.โ€

Natalie opened her eyes and smiled at him. โ€œThank you. Iโ€™m okay.โ€

The unexpected concern warmed her heart. When she arrived at the hospital, Chris personally came downstairs to meet her.

Natalie was wheeled out of the ambulance. Jacob happened to come back from outside; he recognized Natalie right away even though her face was covered in blood.

โ€œNatalie,โ€ he called out with concern as he ran over.

At the sight of him, Natalie smiled and said, โ€œItโ€™s you, Jacob. Iโ€™m going to the ER now; you go take care of your grandma.โ€

โ€œNatalie, Iโ€™ll stay with you,โ€ Jacob said and then he looked at Chris. โ€œChris, I want to stay with Natalie.

Chris noticed his worried gaze and chuckled. โ€œYouโ€™re not a doctor, kid. You donโ€™t need to keep her company. Iโ€™ll take Natalie for a checkup now. You take these things back and then come to the checkup room.โ€

Easton didnโ€™t go home. He stubbornly followed Natalie to her checkups. His eyes were filled with pain as he saw the blood all over her face.

Natalie was rushed for an emergency checkup.

Meanwhile, Easton finished his meeting three hours later.

As soon as Xavier turned on his phone, he got a message from Carlo Hayton: [Xavier, Natalie was in a car accident at the highway exit. The trending topics have been suppressed. Once Mr. Garcia finishes the meeting, make sure you tell him.]

Xavier was taken aback when he saw it. He quickly searched for the news with keywords on his phone.

He saw Davian arrogantly answering the reportersโ€˜ questions, while Natalie was in pain, curled up on the carโ€™s hood. Xavierโ€™s heart skipped a beat; he regretted stopping the car. If he hadnโ€™t stopped, nothing would have happened to Natalie. Easton saw Xavier standing still and shouted irritably, โ€œXavier, why are you standing there? Arenโ€™t you coming?โ€

Xavier felt guilty and said, โ€œMr. Garcia, Ms. Shawn had a car accident.โ€
