Chapter 312

Natalie had just gotten out of the car when she heard Zoe calling, “Natalie, you’re here!”

Natalie looked up and saw her standing on the balcony, wrapped in a puffer jacket, arms hugging herself, with a hat on her head, shouting loudly, but her voice quickly disappeared into the wind and snow.

Natalie smiled sweetly, seeing Zoe bundled up like a little dolphin, and gave her a wave. “Zoe, I’m here. I’ll be right up.”

Natalie went to the trunk to get some gifts. She also had medicine prepared for Zoe. Excited, she rushed forward, not noticing Jasmine behind her.

Jasmine had relatives on this island and came over to visit them. Suddenly, she saw Natalie, and then Zoe upstairs. She paused briefly, wondering why Zoe was there.

Zoe disappeared for months, so how did she suddenly appear here? Jasmine wondered.

Jasmine secretly followed Natalie upstairs. The houses on the island are all four stories high, and Zoe lives in an apartment on the third floor. The heater was on in the room, so it was quite warm. The wind was strong at night, but she had gotten used to it.

Natalie quickly went up to the third floor, and Zoe already had the door open.

“Natalie, come in quickly. It’s really cold outside,” said Zoe.

“I’m here, I brought some baby formula for you,” Natalie said with a smile.

“Oh, you brought a lot last time, and the baby isn’t even born yet. Can it use that much?” Zoe was very happy. Natalie and Tiana were the best to her.

Standing on the second floor, Jasmine saw Zoe’s heavily pregnant belly, and her face twisted with rage and jealousy.

Zoe’s pregnant. Is it the baby she conceived a few months ago after being with Jason at the hotel? Reflecting on the timing, Jasmine wondered.

“This… this can’t be real!” Jasmine touched her own rounded belly, burning with a desire to tear Zoe apart.

Even though the baby in her belly wasn’t Jason’s, it was already acknowledged by the Simpson family. Jason sent her money every month to help with the pregnancy. Speaking of money, Jennifer was supposed to send her some this month. It had been late for several days, and she still hadn’t received it.

After Jasmine saw Natalie go inside with Zoe, she went downstairs to call Jennifer.

“Hey, Jasmine. I’m on set right now, can you be quick?” Jennifer’s tone was a bit impatient on the other end.

Jasmine was furious and didn’t notice it.

“Jennifer, why hasn’t this month’s money been transferred to my account? It’s already several days late, and I’m almost out of cash. Just send it over as soon as you can,” she said.

Jennifer sneered. “Jasmine, Jason is disabled now. Are you really still thinking about marrying him?”

Jasmine paused for a moment before realizing what she meant. Honestly, she felt a bit anxious inside. Jason didn’t show the same concern for her as before.

“Jennifer, what do you mean by this? Are you not planning on sending money anymore?”

“Don’t forget it was you who asked me to set Jason up in the first place. If I reveal this to him and your mom, do you think they’ll still trust you?” Jasmine asked.

It was because Jasmine had leverage over her that she dared to boldly demand money and cause trouble for Jennifer.

“Jasmine, are you threatening me?” Jennifer’s voice was cold.

Jasmine’s smile was twisted. “I’m not trying to threaten you. I just want to ensure my well-being and that of the baby inside me. I want my child to be born and live in a good environment. Jason is willing to be the fool, so why are you talking nonsense here? You can’t just use me like a pawn and drop me when you’re done. I’m not as dumb as Natalie. The money better reach my account on time every month. This is what Jason wants. The baby I’m carrying belongs to the Simpson family.”

Jennifer smiled and said, “Jasmine, you can’t threaten me anymore. Jason is already disabled, and that’s exactly what I wanted: him incapacitated and unable to manage the company affairs. You’ve lost your usefulness to me. You’ve lost your usefulness. Both you and the illegitimate child in your belly can get out of my sight. Whose child are you carrying? Don’t you understand? I have videos and evidence proving that the baby inside you isn’t Jason’s. If I tell my mom about this, do you think you’ll have an easy time? I’m not giving you any more money. I’ve got evidence against you, including proof of your murder.”

“What murder evidence?” Jasmine’s eyes showed a hint of panic. What exactly does Jennifer know? she wondered.

Jennifer mocked. “Jasmine, you’re really foolish. Did you think I partnered with you for no reason? I have proof of your murder, and I know you’re a great pawn. I intentionally let you get close to Jason. Someone as rotten as you is a perfect match for him. I have solid proof of you bullying that girl and driving her to her death, including video footage. Her parents have been searching for evidence all along. What do you think will happen to you if I turn it in?”

Upon hearing those words, Jasmine suddenly remembered what Natalie had said, “Jasmine, you’re just a pawn in Jennifer’s hands. Once she’s done with you, you’ll be discarded or face a worse fate.”

Jasmine’s heart skipped a beat, her eyes becoming fierce and menacing. “Jennifer, so you’ve been treating me like a pawn all along?”

Jennifer began, “That’s right. You’ve been with many men. I used you to allure Jason because I wanted to disgrace him. Natalie warned you, but you ignored it. Now you have the nerve to ask me for money to raise another man’s child, Jasmine, you are really such a shameless bitch.”

Jasmine’s voice shook as she said, “So, you’re not planning to give me any more money?”

Jennifer laughed. “That’s right. My secrets aren’t a big deal. You know how much the Simpsons adore me. As long as I say the baby in your belly isn’t Jason’s, who would believe you? Plus, I have proof of your crimes. Dare to expose me, and I’ll ensure you rot in jail.”

Jennifer hung up right after she finished speaking. She wasn’t afraid of Jasmine at all. She had teamed up with her because she knew her secret. People with secrets were much easier to manipulate.

Jasmine glared at the phone that Jennifer had just hung up, a venomous look in her eyes. Without 15,000 dollars a month she couldn’t survive. How did Jennifer find out about me pushing that woman to death? she wondered.

“Jennifer, you jerk!” said Jasmine, her stomach clenching with anger. Her lower abdomen ached slightly, and Jasmine didn’t dare get angrier. Jason hadn’t called her once since he went abroad. He really didn’t care about her at all. Jasmine was already panicking, fearing Jason would find out the truth and abandon her.

Jasmine looked up at the third floor and wondered whose child Zoe was carrying.
