Chapter 350

Jennifer had never seen Easton like this before. He seemed strict, quiet, and indifferentโ€“so different from the friendly Octavian, with whom she felt comfortable.

Octavianโ€™s charm eased her stress, and she found comfort in being with him, even if it left her feeling sore afterward.

With a heavy heart, Jennifer felt overwhelmed and wished for someone to help lighten her sadness. But with Easton, there was just a tense silence, making her feel drained.

Curious, she asked, โ€œEaston, if you know everything, why do you pretend for Natalie?โ€

She genuinely found Easton confusing; he was becoming harder to understand.

In a detached tone, Easton replied, โ€œYou saved my life. I consider you like a sister. Your problems matter to me, and if you ask for my help, Iโ€™ll give it, but donโ€™t waste it.โ€

Self-absorbed, Jennifer thought Easton was still in love with her, just looking for a reason to help.

Her thoughts made her smile brightly. โ€œEaston, when Iโ€™m with Octavian, we donโ€™t do anything; we just talk about the plot. When did you start believing those rumors?โ€

Easton felt like a stranger now; he had changed a lot.

He seemed to trust Natalie more and was letting go of his faith in her.

Jennifer pressed, โ€œEaston, I really want to eat at this restaurant. Arenโ€™t you worried about Natalie and Murray being alone together?โ€

Deep down, she wanted to take Natalieโ€™s table, determined to ruin any comfort for her rival.

Easton said nothing as he led Jennifer inside.

Natalie and Murray had already ordered, and without Jennifer and Eastonโ€™s disturbance, Natalie felt her spirits lift again.

Just as she began talking to Murray about maternity products from abroad, Easton and Jennifer entered. Easton sat beside her, and Jennifer took the seat next to Murray.

Both Natalie and Murray were surprised at the boldness of the two newcomers.

Frowning at Easton, Natalie asked, โ€œWhat are you two doing here?โ€

With a casual tone, Easton replied, โ€œNo tables free; weโ€™ll share.โ€

Natalieโ€™s voice dripped with sarcasm. โ€œEaston, you reserved the entire restaurant just so Jennifer could eat in peace. Whatโ€™s changed today? Are you letting the one you care about suffer by sharing a table with us?โ€

Jennifer felt humiliated; Eastonโ€™s past affection had made her feel special, but now it was clear he was focused on someone else.

Easton said, โ€œNatalie, if you want to eat in peace, I can reserve the entire place just for you.โ€

His voice was gentle, but his eyes were dark and unreadable.

Natalie felt a bit choked by his words.

With jealousy rising, Jennifer sensed that Easton was now showering Natalie with the kindness he once gave her.

Noticing Jenniferโ€™s angry glare, Natalie felt pleased.

Tilting her head toward Easton, she joked, โ€œThis is the best treatment Iโ€™ve ever received! Please, go ahead and clear everyone out!โ€

As long as it upset Jennifer, Natalie wanted to keep it going, especially since it wasnโ€™t her money.

Seething with anger, Jennifer trembled, her fists clenched tightly, her sharp nails digging painfully into her skinโ€“a useless attempt to hide her growing rage.

Jennifer felt Natalie didnโ€™t deserve such attention.

In a low voice, she said, โ€œEaston, there are too many people; clearing them out could hurt our reputation.โ€

With the movie not yet out, and her being a newcomer, Jennifer couldnโ€™t risk any blemish on her name. Easton knew this was serious.

Raising an eyebrow at her, Easton declared, โ€œAs long as my wife is happy.โ€

Jennifer felt a tightness in her throat from anger. โ€œWhat?โ€ Her voice got sharp, her previous softness gone.

Murray, brow furrowed, spoke up against Easton. โ€œNatalie, itโ€™s annoying to spend his money. Let me handle this; I know the owner and can clear the area for you.โ€

Murrayโ€™s mature outfit made him look serious and authoritative.

Natalie felt tired, thinking, โ€˜Murray, youโ€™ve got it wrong; I just want to upset Jennifer! Please donโ€™t make things harder.โ€™

Once adored by Easton, Jennifer now felt a painful gap in treatment, crushing her self-esteem.

With a bright smile, Natalie said, โ€œMurray, with my husband here, you donโ€™t need to spend anything; just invite me to dinner another time.โ€

Easton looked deeply into her shining smile. She was beautiful; the word โ€œhusbandโ€ from her felt like a sweet melody to him.

Feeling drawn in, he nodded, breaking Jenniferโ€™s heart even more.

Taking on her dramatic persona again, Jennifer whined, โ€œEastonโ€ฆ my stomach hurts. Will you take me to the hospital?โ€

Easton frowned.

Natalie chuckled softly, making a cutting remark. โ€œJennifer, your stomach pain sure has perfect timing!โ€

Feeling embarrassed, Jennifer remembered how she had used this act to get Eastonโ€™s attention when he was with Natalie. In the past, if she mentioned sickness, heโ€™d rush her to the hospital.

But this time, Easton just sat there, showing no signs of wanting to help.

Desperately, Jennifer called out, โ€œEaston! I really do feel bad.โ€

Her mind raced with darker thoughts. โ€˜Dreaded Natalie! Why didnโ€™t Davian finish things last time? Natalie, just you wait, Davian will be out of prison soon.โ€™

Davian had long-held grudges, just like everyone in the Spencer family, including Murray, which led Jennifer to team up with Davian to finally get rid of Natalie.

After the last plan flopped, Jennifer not only lost her investment but found Murray had surprisingly profited from selling houses well.

Seeing Eastonโ€™s continued inaction, Natalie nudged him. โ€œWhy are you just sitting there? Jenniferโ€™s stomach hurtsโ€“if you donโ€™t rush her to the hospital now, she might be fine before you even get there.โ€
