The more Octavian thought about it, the angrier he got. He wondered, “How did Jennifer’s pregnancy become public knowledge?”

He said, “Jennifer, didn’t I tell you before? Stay calm, and once I figure something out, I’ll let you know immediately. But why did you let everyone know?”

Upon hearing this, Jennifer became even more furious because she hadn’t done it. She said, “How would I know? Nobody knew about this except you. If it wasn’t you, then who else could it be?”

More than Octavian, Jennifer was even more determined not to let the world find out she was pregnant. If Easton discovered she was pregnant, things would only get harder.

But she forgot that she had just told Natalie about her pregnancy, and she didn’t expect Natalie not to hold back like she did before.

Octavian asked, “Jennifer, do you think I’m that stupid?”

Jennifer also knew that Octavian wouldn’t ruin his future. But aside from Octavian, Jennifer couldn’t figure out who else knew about her pregnancy. Camellia knew, but she was certain Camellia wouldn’t betray her.

Octavian’s voice was ice-cold as he asked, “Did you tell her?”

Jennifer said, “I wanted to set her up, Octavian. We discussed this before. You promised to help me deal with Natalie. Now’s the perfect time.”

Jennifer knew the best way was not to rely on anyone or expect anything; becoming independent and stronger was the true path forward. But she was not strong enough yet.

Octavian said, “Jennifer, you’re crazy! You’re against her, yet you handed the knife to Natalie yourself. Have you lost your mind?”

Jennifer was annoyed. She wasn’t even sure if it was Natalie. But if she wanted Natalie to die, it must have been Natalie who did this, and Octavian would be her weapon against Natalie.

Jennifer said, “Octavian, we were played by Natalie. What should we do? Octavian, I don’t want to ruin your reputation.” Her voice was gentle but worried.

Jennifer knew Octavian well. He was most drawn to gentle and delicate women, which was why he was initially attracted to her.

Octavian stayed silent for a while before saying, “It’s not practical to deal with Natalie now. Jennifer, have you gotten dumber since you got pregnant?

“Everyone knows your mom’s antics. Yet you are trying to frame Natalie for Maris’s death. I can’t believe you could be so foolish. Your mom and Colin are the main suspects in Maris’s incident.

“There’s only one way out: clarify to the media that you are not pregnant.”

Jennifer sneered, realizing at this moment that Octavian was backing out of responsibility. Her eyes were cold, filled with a biting chill as she wondered how she had ended up here.

She said in a low voice, “Octavian, I get it. You don’t want to be responsible.”

Octavian said, “Jennifer, we’re still young, and we don’t love each other; it was just a fling. Hold a press conference and say you’re not pregnant.

“Tell them that you have a conflict with Natalie, and she intentionally tried to damage your reputation. Then have your agency release your movie poster. From what I’ve seen, your popularity will only increase.

“Jennifer, this time, you can gain more fans. Natalie is just your stepping stone. There’s a charity event for heart disease tonight. You should donate and ensure the media covers it extensively to improve your image.”

Jennifer narrowed her eyes. She thought, ‘Octavian has got some points. He has been in this industry for years and knows the ins and outs well.

‘If I tell the media that Natalie set me up this time, the media would believe me. Because they know that Natalie has repeatedly messed with me. Natalie can’t clear her name anymore!’

Octavian continued, “Jennifer, just wait a little longer, until the situation escalates enough, then hold a press conference. Put all the blame on Natalie–you get what I mean, right?”

Jennifer understood what Octavian meant. She let out a cold laugh. Her voice was icy as she said, “I know. It’s a pity our baby became our stepping stone. It should have been a boy; I dreamed of a black snake last night.”

After speaking, Jennifer didn’t give Octavian a chance to respond before hanging up.

Her eyes were filled with murderous intent. She thought, ‘Octavian could only be a tool; he isn’t good enough to be my partner.

She chuckled softly. Indeed, after getting pregnant, her mind seemed to become dull. She used to handle Natalie easily; how could she become so passive now? She had defeated Wendy, Natalie was nothing in comparison.

She took a deep breath and thought, ‘Let’s wait and see how the situation unfolds.’ Then, she called Oliver in.

Oliver quickly came in and asked anxiously, “Ms. Simpson, what do we do now? Things are getting out of control.”

He was worried. His real boss went through a lot to get Jennifer to this position. Jennifer had just established herself, and any minor issue could ruin her.

Jennifer smiled slightly. She said, “It’s alright, I’ve got a plan. Find our PR team. I’ll hold a press conference later and tell everyone those rumors are false, just a smear campaign by Natalie.”

Oliver had been with Jennifer for many years, so he immediately understood what she meant. He smiled and replied, “Alright! I’ll get on it right away.”

Natalie was sketching designs in the room. She channeled her anger into creativity, and her inspiration flowed smoothly as her pen moved across the paper.

Natalie had just finished a design and was satisfied as she looked at it, a faint smile on her lips. Her phone vibrated, and she picked it up to see it was Luna calling. She answered the phone and said, “Luna.”

Luna said, “Natalie, have you seen the news? Jennifer’s pregnant with Octavian’s baby.”

Natalie was surprised. She asked, “Are you sure Jennifer’s baby is Octavian’s?” She thought, ‘No wonder Easton said those odd things earlier.

But after thinking about it, Natalie figured that Jennifer couldn’t lie. She didn’t believe the baby Jennifer was carrying belonged to Octavian.

Luna said, “Natalie, everyone online is talking about this, but Octavian hasn’t made any statement. People ask him to explain himself, and the internet is going wild.”

Thinking of what Jennifer said earlier, Natalie asked, “Could Jennifer be lying? Is the baby not Easton’s?”

Luna was surprised. She asked, “Is the baby Jennifer carrying actually Easton’s?”

Natalie replied, “Yeah! That’s what Jennifer said.” She sounded a bit disappointed.

Luna could tell that Natalie’s romance obsession was surfacing again. She said, “Natalie, don’t be upset. You’ve already decided to give up on Mr. Garcia, so it doesn’t matter who’s having his baby.”

Luna had a cool and calm personality and wasn’t good at comforting people.

Natalie felt down and couldn’t muster any energy. She said, “Luna, I get what you’re saying, but I’m still pretty upset.”

Her eyes had lost their luster, and they had a hint of redness. She said, “Even though I’ve moved on, it still hurts beyond my control.”
