Chapter 38

Sebastian, who had been watching the drama unfold, finally spoke. "Mr. Farrell, aren't you being a bully? Men interfering in women's disputes changes everything. If you use the Farrell Group's legal team against Daphne, I'll have to bring in the Turner family's lawyers."

Wilson's gaze darkened. He glared at Sebastian. "Sebastian, why are you meddling in Daphne's and my affairs? Or is it because you're sleeping with her?"

Suddenly, Daphne splashed a glass of red wine across Wilson's face. Her eyes blazed with rage. She seemed to want to incinerate him with her glare.

She growled, "You piece of trash! Just because you're despicable doesn't mean everyone else is! You can insult me, but not Sebastian! He's not as disgusting as you are!"

The meal had reached a breaking point. Jack shifted uncomfortably. He knew choosing either Daphne or Yvonne would cause major trouble. Both women had powerful backers, so he decided to avoid the conflict.

Jack said nervously, "Everyone, please calm down. Actually, I'm looking for someone with a different ethnic background for the lead role. Neither of you quite fit the part, but I hope we can work together on future projects. I have some business to attend to at the studio, so I'll be leaving now. Please enjoy your meal."

Grabbing his jacket, Jack rushed out. Yvonne angrily wiped the wine from Wilson's face, unable to hide her hatred for Daphne.

She spat, "How dare you throw these tantrums at Will and me? You take advantage of Will's good manners by attacking and insulting us. We've let you get away with it out of guilt, but aren't you constantly seen around town with Sebastian? You're no better than us! Next time, we won't be so nice."

Daphne found this laughable. When had they ever been nice to her? Her good mood vanished.

She snapped back, "If you don't want me to rip your mouth off your face, you'd better shut it."

Yvonne continued, "You can bully me all you want, Daphne. I know I can't win against you. But to humiliate Will like that in front of everyone? Splashing wine at him and showing him no respect? Is that how a wife is supposed to act? No wonder Will doesn't love you anymore!"

Chapter 39

Yvonne's final words hit hard. Daphne couldn't help but wonder if Wilson's lack of love stemmed from her public humiliation. She doubted it, though. He simply didn't love her anymore. Everything felt pointless.

She gestured to Ava and Sebastian. "Let's go home." She couldn't stand being around those two toxic people. She hadn't gotten the role, but neither had Yvonne, so it wasn't a complete loss.

Reaching the door, Daphne paused. She needed to say something she couldn't keep inside.

After a long silence, her voice was low but steady. "Wilson, you're not the man I used to know." She couldn't find any trace of the wonderful qualities that had made her fall in love with him. He would spread rumors about her infidelity, use his power to sabotage her career for Yvonne, and mock her cruelly.

Sometimes, Daphne wondered if this was truly the Wilson she had loved. But after everything, the answer no longer mattered.

She took a deep breath. Newfound determination filled her eyes. She said firmly, "You're a worthless piece of shit now."

With those words, she opened the door and walked out, her steps steady and resolute.
