Chapter 104 Misplaced Emotions

Upon witnessing Ruth receiving her deserved punishment and Jillian getting to return to school, the corner of Madelyn’s mouth curled up into a beautiful arc.

Ruth was a case of a villain getting a taste of their own medicine, so there was no point in feeling sympathy for her.

The crucial part was Jillian. The mere thought of having truly saved her brought Madelyn great joy.

In no time at all, the apology ceremony came to an end.

Madelyn switched off the television when her phone suddenly began to ring.

She pulled out her phone and saw that it was a call from Jillian, so she answered it.

As soon as the call connected, the excited voice of Jillian could be heard. “Madelyn, I can’t thank you enough! Earlier, at the school…”

Madelyn smiled reassuringly. “I saw everything. It’s wonderful news.”

Jillian was overjoyed, but then she gradually regained her composure and said, “Madelyn, you’ve done us such a huge favor this time. My mom and I would really like to invite you over for dinner at our place. Would that be okay?”

“Of course! Why wouldn’t it be okay?” Madelyn readily agreed.

“That’s wonderful! Then I’ll quickly ask my mom to buy more groceries,” Jillian said, brimming with joy.

Madelyn, however, promptly interrupted, “No need for that, Jillian. Although I can go over for dinner, it won’t be today. I have plans today.”

“Huh?” Jillian sounded a bit disappointed. “Then let’s pick another time. When will you be free?”

After giving it some thought, Madelyn suggested, “How about this weekend? School’s out that day, so neither of us will be busy.”

Naturally, Jillian agreed, “All right, let’s do it this weekend then. I’ll also let my mom know.”

Madelyn made a sound of agreement.

With that, the two of them ended the call.

At that moment, a certain individual unexpectedly crossed Madelyn’s mind.

Suddenly, it dawned on her. In her focus to deal specifically with Ruth this time, she had inadvertently let a fish slip through the net – Janessa!

Besides, it wasn’t entirely because of you that I exposed all of Ruth’s glorious deeds. I was already quite furious with her actions. How could we let someone like her get away with it?”

Hearing this, Madelyn let out a relieved laugh, then continued, “Actually, Ivy, there’s something else I’d like to ask of you…”

“Sure, go ahead. What’s up?” Ivy agreed without a second thought.

Madelyn sighed with relief and said, “Ivy, could you post a message on our school forum on behalf of the media agency? The main topic should be about those boys who were expelled. Just mention that they were manipulated by someone to harm Jillian.”

“Oh… I understand now.” Ivy nodded upon hearing this. “You mean to say that there are others who slipped through the net in this incident?”

Madelyn promptly nodded. “Exactly! I’m currently devising a plan to expose her.”

In her mind, she declared, Janessa, don’t think you can escape unscathed!

“All right, I can help you with this post,” Ivy said. “But who was directing those boys?”

After some thought, Madelyn said, “It’s another boy from school. His name is Ivan Cox.”

Ivan Cox, a handsome and wealthy young man, was indeed a fervent admirer of Janessa.

Madelyn had already made inquiries. Those boys who plotted against Jillian were all closely associated with Ivan, which meant there was likely something fishy going on.

Upon hearing this, Ivy nodded and said, “All right, I’ll handle it for you. Don’t worry!”

There was no denying the media agency where Ivy worked was incredibly efficient.

The administrative office at the school was left with no choice but to seek out Ivan.

Ivan replied, “After seeing all those comments online, I felt that a girl like Jillian needed to be taught a lesson. That’s why I did what I did.”

From that, it was clear he was shouldering all the blame himself.

In the end, it was rumored that Ivan had relatives in the Department of Education, so he didn’t face any serious consequences. He was merely asked to write a letter of apology.

Madelyn couldn’t help but sigh inwardly, thinking to herself how deeply Ivan seemed to care for Janessa.

So, she had vented her frustrations to Ivan, who was fond of her.

In order to help her vent her anger, Ivan schemed against Jillian.

Afterward, Madelyn went to the company and found Malcolm.

Then, she asked Malcolm for assistance to expose the account that had spread rumors about Jillian entertaining clients on the forum back then.

Naturally, Malcolm was duty-bound.

After cracking the code, they found out that the account was indeed Janessa’s alternate account.

The students all came out one after another, joining in the excitement.

In no time at all, both Janessa and Ivan found themselves at the receiving end of a torrent of insults on the forum.
