Chapter 110 A Potent Poison
โSebastian, what on earth is going on?โ Wesley could not wrap his head around it and could only turn to Sebastian for answers. He couldnโt believe that Madelyn was actually planning to teach them a lesson.
Sebastian frowned, clearly unable to comprehend it as well. However, since Madelyn had acted in such a way, he reckoned she must have had her own reasons.
Sebastian rose to his feet, his voice deep as he said, โLetโs go.โ
Wesley followed him and left.
Meanwhile, the doctor had already tended to Madelynโs foot. Madelyn let out a pitiful scream, after which, the doctor promptly and patiently administered her medication. The doctor then went on to examine the injuries of Christopher and Janessa. Madelyn cast a glance over, then left Janessa and Christopher behind. She supported herself against the wall and departed.
As soon as she stepped out of the combat training center, she spotted a brand new black Maserati, conspicuously parked by the roadside. The sun was shining directly overhead, casting a golden glow on the glossy surface of the car roof. Why does this car seem so familiar? Madelyn hobbled her way over.
โSheโs here,โ Wesley, who was in the car, said.
Sebastian turned his head and couldnโt help but furrow his brows when he saw her limping. At that moment, the car window slid down.
Upon glancing over, Madelyn spotted Sebastian and was suddenly filled with joy. โSebastian, what are you doing here?โ No wonder the car looks familiar. Itโs Sebastianโs.
The rear car window also rolled down. When Wesley saw Madelyn, he flashed a radiant smile. โHello, Goddess Madelyn. Itโs been a while!โ
Madelyn was surprised. โWhy are you here too?โ
Sebastian responded in a chilly tone, โWe just happened to be passing by.โ
โOh, all right, then.โ Madelyn nodded. Well, if he says soโฆ
โGet in the car,โ Sebastian said nonchalantly.
Following that, the car door swung open, and Madelyn promptly settled herself in. After she got into the car, Wesley couldnโt suppress his curiosity and fixed his gaze on her. โHey, Madelyn, what kind of game are you playing now?โ
Madelyn was utterly baffled. โWhat did you say?โ
โGive it a rest, will you? Stop pretending. Isnโt the injury on your foot obvious enough? Youโve definitely been up to something shady again, havenโt you?โ
Madelyn couldnโt help but feel a surge of anger. โWesley, what nonsense are you spouting with that worthless mouth of yours? Stay away from me!โ
โCome on, canโt I just joke around?โ Wesley immediately responded with a playful grin, moving closer. โSo, would you tell me how you got that injury on your foot?โ
Sebastian cast his gaze down at Madelynโs foot. Upon seeing her ankle wrapped in a bandage, he couldnโt help but furrow his brows deeply. Why, this womanโฆ
Madelyn also looked down at her own ankle, but she appeared completely nonchalant about it. โThis? Oh, I just sprained it by accident. Itโs nothing serious.โ
โSprained?โ Wesley suddenly let out a chuckle, feigning ignorance as he asked, โAre you kidding? This place is a combat training center. Did you injure yourself when you were learning martial arts here?โ
โMm-hmm.โ Madelyn saw no reason to hide anything, so she nodded.
This piqued Wesleyโs curiosity even more. โIโm a bit confused. You were doing perfectly fine. Why did you decide to learn martial arts?โ
โTo stay healthy, of course,โ Madelyn said with a laugh. After she finished speaking, she thought for a moment then playfully added, โAnd to beat up the bad guys.โ
Wesley was momentarily at a loss for words. This response was truly baffling, probably only something Madelyn could say. However, Wesley didnโt offer any rebuttal. Instead, he racked his brain, wondering how on earth he could get her to reveal her earlier performance at the combat training center.
Before he could even think of anything, Sebastian sternly said, โTo the hospital.โ
Upon hearing about going to the hospital, Madelyn quickly waved her hand. โItโs okay, Sebastian. Iโm fine. A doctor at the combat training center already checked on me earlier.โ
Sebastian didnโt bother to respond. He just coldly said, โHospital.โ
Hearing this, the driver nodded and then proceeded to drive toward the hospital.
In less than ten minutes, Madelyn was rushed to an orthopedic hospital. Sebastian sought out the best traditional medicine practitioner in orthopedics to examine Madelynโs injuries. This renowned traditional medicine practitioner was exceptionally skilled in the art of massage therapy. Countless individuals sought out the hospital, specifically requesting him, yet very few were able to secure an appointment. Yet now, Sebastian had sought him out specifically to examine Madelynโs foot.
Wesley, standing to the side, couldnโt help but marvel at everything Sebastian was doing. Unable to resist, he stepped forward and said, โCome out, I have something to tell you.โ
Sebastian cast a glance at Madelyn before he left.
Outside in the corridor, after Wesley had pulled Sebastian over, he tutted a few times. โSebastian, do you realize how much of a charmer you are? If I were a woman, Iโd fall in love with you after being cared for like that.โ
Sebastian showed a hint of impatience as he said, โJust get to the point.โ
Wesley cleared his throat and asked, โBut seriously, have you actually fallen for Madelyn? If I recall correctly, Sebastian, your initial intention of getting close to her wasnโt for this, was itโฆโ Wesley gently offered a reminder.
Sebastian snapped, โShut up!โ
Wesley was startled by his shout. He patted his chest and said somewhat resentfully, โSebastian, donโt get worked up. Iโm saying this for your own good. As your friend, I have to warn you! Youโd better stay clear-headed and keep your distance from Madelyn. Based on my years of understanding women, that woman is like a potent poison. Once youโre hooked, itโs extremely hard to extricate yourself Sebastian, heed my advice. Donโt get too attached to her. You might end up in a situation where you canโt extricate yourself.โ
Sebastian remained expressionless and fell silent.
At that moment, Madelyn emerged. โSebastian, the traditional medicine practitioner you found for me is really good. After his treatment, I immediately feel less pain. Even the swelling has gone down,โ she exclaimed with a sweet smile.
Sebastianโs mood seemed to brighten a bit as well as he took in her smile. He said softly, โIโm glad it doesnโt hurt anymore. Letโs go home.โ
Madelyn nodded happily.
Sebastian, supporting Madelyn, strode away.
Wesley watched from behind, not making an effort to catch up, and just let out a deep sigh.
