Chapter 206 You Have Got Some Backbone

“I can let you go, but you’ll be under constant surveillance in the following days. If you dare take off, I won’t hesitate to send men to kill your entire family. You know I’m capable of doing it,” the man said ruthlessly.

Madelyn had no choice but to nod in agreement obediently.

At that moment, Sebastian and his men finally spotted a spacious mansion a near distance away in the suburbs after tracking and searching for Madelyn relentlessly.

The lights were on in the mansion, with nearly a hundred bodyguards in black standing guard outside in an orderly manner.

Beside them, a fleet of black Beetles were parked across the grass, their roofs reflecting the moonlight.

Everyone was immediately astounded. Such a lineup is indeed as expected of Oceanic Empire!

Sebastian knew that if he charged in headfirst, he’d be outnumbered, with no edge on his side.

Thus, he could only scan the surroundings and locate an entrance obscured by trees and not easily noticeable, planning to lead his men through there.

Suddenly, a man whispered, “Mr. Lockhart, there’s a layer of wire mesh blocking our path here!”

Sebastian’s expression stiffened, and he immediately stepped forward to check it out.

It turned out that the entrance was covered with a thin layer of silver wire mesh. Accurately speaking, the entire mansion was surrounded by the mesh.

“Oh well, isn’t it just wire mesh? Let me break it.” Suddenly, someone reached out to touch the wire mesh.

“Stop!” Sebastian immediately grabbed his hand, yanking him back hard.

“This wire mesh is likely the mansion’s security system. If we were to break in, we would definitely trigger some sort of trap or even hidden weapons. If you value your life, don’t touch it,” Sebastian warned calmly, his commanding presence instantly overshadowing all else.

Everyone was so frightened that their breaths caught.

“What should we do, then? Are we not going to rescue Mrs. Lockhart?” someone suddenly asked timidly.

Sebastian snorted coldly. Not rescue her? That’s impossible!

He turned to his assistant calmly and asked, “Malcolm, can you hack this wire mesh?”

At his question, Malcolm immediately stepped forward and examined the silver wire mesh.

A moment later, he turned back and said, “Yes, but I need some time, about two minutes or so. But within those two minutes, there’s a high chance we might be discovered. So…”

In other words, whether they chose to barge in from the front or sneak in through the back, they were bound to be discovered.

Following that, the silver wire mesh reacted. Immediately, a piercing alarm rang out both inside and outside the house.

Realizing that someone was attempting to enter from outside, the men in black were all surprised. However, they didn’t lose their composure.

When the bewitching man heard the alarm, his brows immediately furrowed.

Nonetheless, he wasn’t nervous at all. On the contrary, he grinned devilishly. “I didn’t expect this spot to be so easily traced. It seems that your men are quite capable.”

Madelyn’s heart clenched.

Her intuition told her it had to be Sebastian who came looking for her.

It must be him because apart from him, no one else would be willing to risk his life to go up against Oceanic Empire for my sake!

At that thought, she immediately gazed at the man before her pleadingly. “Please don’t hurt them. They came to rescue me with no other ill intentions. I’m your target, so I’ll bear the consequences. Once you let me go, I’ll take them away immediately.”

“Oh?” Upon hearing that, the man inexplicably chuckled.

However, a hint of amusement showed in his eyes. “You’ll bear the consequences, huh? You’ve got some backbone.”

Madelyn, however, promptly shook her head and said solemnly, “No. It’s just that everyone has something they wish to protect. I’m merely safeguarding those I want to protect to the best of my ability. That’s all.”

Upon hearing that, the man seemingly hesitated for a moment. However, he soon relented, “Alright, I’ll trust you this once. But here’s a word of warning. If you deceived me about having a special ability, I wouldn’t let you off the hook.”

Madelyn nodded.

The bewitching man was seemingly satisfied. With a casual wave of his hand, he ordered her release.

“Boss, I’m in!” Malcolm exclaimed excitedly in less than two minutes.

Without a word, Sebastian immediately led his men to infiltrate the place.

Unexpectedly, the mansion’s main gates swung open just then.

Sebastian’s heart clenched. Subsequently, Madelyn walked out alone calmly, safe and sound.

After she had left, the gates quickly closed behind her.

Sebastian immediately quickened his pace toward her.

Just as he was about to inquire after her, he caught sight of the distinct wound on her face. His eyes instantly...

As she was tormented just now, if it weren’t for her continuous thoughts of him, she might have given up for real.

At the sight of him then, she felt like a drowning person who had finally been rescued, finally grasping a glimmer of light after the terror of darkness.

Even though she yearned to bury herself in his arms and never leave, she knew they couldn’t linger since it was a dangerous place there.

So, before Sebastian could speak, Madelyn calmly interrupted him, saying, “Let’s go. We’ll talk when we get back.”

After some thought, Sebastian could only relent.

But he couldn’t help but narrow his eyes, looking at the mansion with a somewhat frosty gaze.

At a glance, there appeared to be a tall figure on the second floor.

His gaze immediately turned as cold as ice, piercing straight through the figure with a terrifyingly murderous aura.

How dare he put a gash on my woman’s face? No matter who he is, I won’t let him off easily!

The man was initially very composed, but upon seeing Sebastian’s look, he surprisingly shivered inexplicably.

Madelyn murmured obediently. Then, she politely said, “It’s late. You should hurry home and rest. I’ll be leaving first.”

Once she had finished speaking, Malcolm opened the car door for the couple. Madelyn then slipped into Sebastian’s car.

Felix stood in place, watching the car fade into the distance. She’s a nice girl. But sadly, she’s already taken. In the end, he could only sigh.
