Chapter 246 Very Worried

Madelyn felt somewhat self-conscious under the scrutiny.

Within Sebastianโ€™s unfathomable gaze, a mist-like veil unfurled, revealing clarity. However, Madelyn knew he was still not appeased.

Out of nowhere, in a moment of panic-induced wit, Madelyn had somehow pressed her soft, pink lips against his thin, cool ones.

Sebastian didnโ€™t respond.

Madelyn grew more eager, beginning to kiss him the way he had kissed her, tentatively exploring his mouth bit by bit.

Sebastian still kept his mouth shut.

Madelyn knew she had been rejected and was on the verge of tears. She could only clumsily press her lips against his, licking and nipping.

Gradually, her hands took the initiative, reaching up to his collar and undoing his tie.

Sebastian was already in a bad mood, and Madelyn was all over him, showering him with affection. Suddenly, an unknown surge of anger welled up within him. He swiftly flipped their positions, pressing her beneath him as he passionately kissed her.

Compared to Madelynโ€™s gentle kiss, his was full of dominance, almost as if he wanted to consume her entirely.

In a short while, Madelyn found herself breathless from the intensity of the kiss, her legs turning weak almost to the point of giving out.

At that moment, Malcolm, who was driving, had his face flushed with embarrassment. Very conscientiously, he pulled down the divider, effectively blocking the rearview mirror inside the car.

However, given that they were in a car, Sebastian managed to show some restraint.

After enduring his temper through a series of nearly-biting kisses, Sebastian finally released Madelyn, who was left weak from his kisses. However, he still held onto her, anger in his voice as he demanded, โ€œTell me, what exactly happened to you? Why such a drastic change?โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t even think about evading. Confess honestly,โ€ Sebastian added sternly.

Even though he could clearly sense that Madelyn was not the same as she used to be, Sebastian was still certain that she hadnโ€™t been replaced. He just couldnโ€™t understand why she had suddenly changed so much.

Madelyn was breathing lightly, aware in her heart that this time, there was no escaping. I canโ€™t say Iโ€™ve reincarnated, can I? How could Sebastian possibly believe it!

With no other choice, she slowly regulated her breathing before whispering, โ€œSebastian, I didnโ€™t mean to hide this from you. I just thought that you might not believe me if I told you. Actually, on the night we got a tragic end in a prison cell, and you, in your attempt to save me, were also killedโ€ฆ It was only after you were gone that I realized, surprisingly, that I could feel heartache for you, too.โ€

As Madelyn spoke, it was as if a mist had formed in her eyes, sinking her into a profound melancholy.

โ€œIn my dream, I was just like my past self, always convinced that I didnโ€™t like you, refusing to accept the marriage arranged by my father. So, I came up with all sorts of foolish excuses, constantly finding fault with you, hurting you time and time againโ€ฆ But it wasnโ€™t until you completely left me that I realized it truly had no meaning without you in my life. So, the true embodiment of loving someone is crying for them, being angry for them, laughing for them, and wholeheartedly hoping they are doing well. The dream made me realize I was truly wrong. I learned to cherish, and finally, I discovered Sebastian. I simply cannot live without youโ€ฆ In my dreams, I thought that if there ever comes a day when I have to leave before you, Sebastian, promise me you wonโ€™t grieve for me. Thatโ€™s because seeing you in sorrow would only deepen the pain in my heartโ€ฆโ€

As Madelyn spoke, she was completely unaware that her tears had already slipped down her cheeks, unexpectedly.

Sebastian found himself unwittingly captivated as he gazed upon her face.

At that moment, Madelyn took a deep breath, her eyes brimming with tears as she continued, โ€œAfter waking from the dream, I knew clearly that I didnโ€™t want to become the person in that dream, full of regret all for not cherishing what I had. Thatโ€™s why I changed. And all the trials we went through together were things I had seen in my dream. That time you were about to leave for Rodunst, I had a dream that you were in grave danger there. Thatโ€™s why I was so desperate to accompany you. I was truly worried that you might vanish just like in my dream, which is why I prepared in advance, disguising myself as Morgana to come to your aidโ€ฆโ€

Madelyn spoke, her voice breaking as she wiped away a tear. She looked at Sebastian, her gaze filled with a certain naivety. โ€œSebastian, you might think Iโ€™m being ridiculous and foolish, but that dream felt so real. I was in so much pain in that dream that I was really scared those things might actually happen. So, Iโ€ฆโ€

There was no need to say what followed. Sebastian understood it all.

He had a fair idea why such a drastic change had occurred within her.

His instincts found it unbelievable. After all, such occurrences were far too mystical and their credibility was extremely low. However, the events had indeed unfolded, just as she had described.

He had no choice but to gently comfort her, stroking her hair.

At that moment, Madelyn was nervously watching Sebastian, anxiously asking, โ€œSebastian, donโ€™t you believe what Iโ€™m saying?โ€

Upon hearing the words, Sebastian merely gave a nonchalant shake of his head, expressing nothing at all.

Unable to help himself, his voice softened as he gently said, โ€œIn the future, if anything happens, donโ€™t keep it from me. Iโ€™ll worry.โ€

A bitter feeling surged through his eyes in an instant, and a hot tear fell directly from his eye.

Madelyn was deeply touched and overjoyed. She nodded vigorously and said, โ€œSebastian, you can rest assured. I promise I will never keep secrets from you again.โ€

Sebastian gave a noncommittal hum, not saying anything further.

Following that, the two of them went home, washed up and went straight to bed, not uttering another word about the incident.

The following day, Madelyn had left for campus, and Josiah was still unaware of the situation. He caught up with her and asked, โ€œHey! Are we still going to that back market? Are you going to take care of your business or not?โ€

โ€œNo need to go.โ€ Madelyn stood firm, explaining with a smile, โ€œIโ€™ve already taught those who needed to be taught a lesson. Now, itโ€™s time to teach my dear sister a lesson properly.โ€

Upon hearing this, Josiah was incredulous. โ€œReally? When did you teach those people a lesson? Didnโ€™t I tell you to involve me?โ€

โ€œHaha! The situation was quite urgent at that time.โ€

Josiah immediately rolled his eyes, but given the circumstances, there was no point in being petty.

He then said, โ€œLetโ€™s get serious and focus on the stage play. Weโ€™re performing next week. If we continue with the subpar performance weโ€™ve been giving, what are we going to present on stage!โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re right. We really need to put some thought into that stage play.โ€ Madelyn nodded in agreement without any objections.
