Chapter 329: Utterly Inhumane

Alas, he couldn't escape. Casino staff quickly surrounded him, blocking his path.

"Thinking of escaping, huh? Get down on your knees!" One of them kicked Nathan's kneecap, forcing him to kneel.

Madelyn looked solemnly at Septimus. "Mr. Septimus, I'm counting on you."

Smiling, Septimus said, "No problem." He strode over with his men. The casino staff recognized him, greeted him respectfully, and cleared a path. The entire casino fell silent. Everyone's gaze fell upon Septimus, sensing his overwhelming authority.

Septimus walked to Nathan, his voice imposing. "Young man, you'd better pay up, or you'll suffer."

Nathan knelt, drenched in cold sweat, facing Septimus' overwhelming aura. He barely whispered, "Iโ€ฆ don't have any money."

"What? You don't have money?" Septimus sneered. "Fine. Leave two of your hands behind to settle the debt!"

One of his subordinates stepped forward, brandishing a huge, bloodstained machete. The onlookers gasped.

Nathan, terrified, pleaded hysterically, "Don't! Don't hurt me! I beg you! I have money! My sister has money! Just give me two minutes! I'll have my sister figure something out!" He frantically dialed Jillian's number, his hands shaking.

Madelyn sighed disappointedly. Seeing Nathan's cowardice upset her, even though she'd anticipated it.

Tristan seethed with rage. "That brat! Things have been hard enough for Jillian! Does he even have a heart? I swear, I'll beat him to a pulp!" He was about to attack when Josiah pulled him back. "Tristan, calm down. Let's see how it goes. We can always beat him up later."

Chapter 329: Utterly Inhumane (Continued)

Jillian arrived frantically after Nathan's call. She rushed to him, concerned. "Nathan, you said someone threatened to sever your hands? Are you okay?" Despite often finding him exasperating, she worried for his safety.

Yet, Nathan showed no remorse, pleading, "Jillian, I'm in debt! You need to help me find forty million! If I don't pay up, they're going to chop off my hand!"

Jillian almost fainted. Disheartened, she yelled, "Nathan, have you lost your mind? Where am I supposed to find that much money? Even if we sold everything, we couldn't raise that much!"

In anxiety, Nathan blurted, "Are you stupid? Aren't your friends wealthy? Why don't you borrow from them?"

His words struck Jillian like a bolt of lightning. At her wit's end, she slapped him, frustrated and heartbroken. "Nathan Lynch, when will you grow up?" Her voice was hoarse and gut-wrenching. The onlookers frowned, pained by the siblings' interaction.

Septimus, annoyed by their antics, asked unceremoniously, "Are you two done? I'm not here to watch your family drama. Cough up the forty million, or leave your hands behind!"

One of his underlings plunged a knife into Nathan's palm. "Ah! Ouch! It hurts!" Nathan wailed, clutching his bleeding hand, writhing in pain. Everyone was taken aback.

Madelyn was shocked. She thought Septimus promised not to harm Nathan.

Tristan grew anxious. "They wouldn't harm Jillian, would they? No, I have to do something." Madelyn stopped him. "Don't worry. They won't harm Jillian." She'd noticed Septimus only intended to teach Nathan a lesson.

Chapter 320: Utterly Inhumane

Madelyn nodded.

Jillian's face turned ashen. She pleaded, "I beg you, spare Nathan. He's young and naive. Please, let himโ€ฆ"

"Let him go?" Septimus smirked. "Sure. But in exchange, you should stay. You're quite pretty. Perhaps you could stay here and sell yourself, using a lifetime to pay off the debt."

Jillian's heart sank. It felt like plummeting from a cliff into the serene ocean depths. The light in her eyes dimmed as she glanced at her brother's hand. She nodded reluctantly. "Fine, I'll stay. Just let him go."

Nathan was dumbfounded. This man demanded his sister sell herself? Madelyn, seeing Nathan's silence, assumed he was fine with it. Her heart sank. If he had any conscience, there'd be a chance for redemption. But if not, he was incorrigible.

Tristan's fury intensified. "That little brat! I'm definitely going to tear him apart! Does this jerk even have a shred of humanity left in him?"

Septimus furrowed his brows at Nathan's stunned expression. He chuckled and said to Jillian, "Since there are no objections, let's start now. My buddies haven't tasted women in a while. Why don't you serve them one by one? Your dear brother can enjoy the show, too."
