Chapter 354: Filled With Embarrassment

Damn it! Madelyn has no respect for rules!

Although reluctant to imagine what transpired, the thought of them alone together filled Harrietโ€™s heart with jealousy. With no other choice, she returned to her office. Out of sight, out of mind.

After a passionate moment, the sky outside had nearly turned dark. Sebastian pulled away, put on his coat, and resumed his noble, elegant demeanor. Madelyn, however, was miserable and too tired to move. Who would have thought the refined Sebastian could be so aggressive in bed?

Worse still, he seemed angry, treating her punitively, leaving her body sore. Madelyn grumbled inwardly. If she had known, she wouldn't have provoked him. Oh, how she wished she could turn back time.

Madelyn finally emerged from the lounge, her legs trembling, her groin burning with pain. She glared resentfully at Sebastian, cursing him under her breath. "It's all your fault, you jerk!"

Sebastian noticed her resentful look and chuckled. Putting down his document, he said, โ€œItโ€™s getting late. Shall I take you out for dinner?โ€

Madelyn shot him a glare. โ€œNo. How am I supposed to go out looking like this? I was fine when I arrived, but now I'm hobbling! Anyone can see what happened. I'll be a laughingstock! This scoundrel is so careless.โ€

Sebastianโ€™s smile widened, but he compromised. โ€œFine. Iโ€™ll order takeout then. What would you like to eat?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m not sure. You decide,โ€ Madelyn pouted. I donโ€™t care! Iโ€™d eat anything to ease this pain.

Sebastian smiled and ordered food. About half an hour later, Malcolm brought the takeout. They moved to the couch to eat.

Madelyn, utterly drained and hungry, started drooling at the smell of the food. Almost immediately, she began eating heartily, as if she had starved for days. She even choked and coughed, which amused Sebastian.

Madelyn nodded, continuing to eat. Pleased, Sebastian commented, โ€œLooks like Iโ€™ve found a way to get you to eat more.โ€

โ€œHmm,โ€ Madelyn said, stuffing more food in her mouth. Hold on. Does he meanโ€ฆ?

โ€œYou scoundrel!โ€ Madelyn exclaimed, understanding his meaning. Sebastian smirked, then stopped teasing her and served her more food. โ€œEat up.โ€

She huffed and forgave him. Night fell, and once Sebastian finished his work, he turned to Madelyn, saying, โ€œLetโ€™s go home.โ€

Madelyn nodded, and they descended the stairs together. They chatted and laughed in the parking lot, looking incredibly happy.

Harriet, nearby, saw their interaction. She had just finished her shift and barely buckled her seatbelt when she saw them. Instantly, intense jealousy nearly drove her mad. She had spent the entire day waiting for Sebastian, but he never appeared. Seeing them together made her livid.

Damn Madelyn. Who gave her the right to occupy so much of Sebastianโ€™s time and win so much of his love? That bitch! Who does she think she is? Sheโ€™s absolutely unworthy of him!

Lost in her thoughts, Harrietโ€™s obsession consumed her, resentment brimming in her eyes, so much so that she wished Madelyn would drop dead. Once sheโ€™s gone, everything will be perfect.

Eunice returned to a luxurious hotel after visiting Regina. She approached Kieran, hugged him, smiling blissfully. โ€œIโ€™ve talked to my mom, and she said she supports us.โ€

โ€œReally? Thatโ€™s wonderful,โ€ Kieran said, forcing a fake smile and kissing her. โ€œLooks like Iโ€™ll have to brainstorm with my wife on this.โ€

Eunice melted at the word โ€œwife,โ€ completely falling into his trap. She immediately asked, blushing, โ€œSo, what do you plan to do?โ€

Kieran chuckled, caressing her earlobe. โ€œDerekโ€™s your father, after all. I think that, if you want to regain control of the company, the first thing you have to do is to earn his trust.โ€

โ€œHuh?โ€ Eunice said, troubled. โ€œBut my father knows about everything Iโ€™ve done. I bet he resents me now. How could he possibly trust me again?โ€

โ€œHe wonโ€™t ever believe you if you were anyone else. But youโ€™re his daughter. No father will hate his own child,โ€ Kieran said, his insincere smile widening.

โ€œButโ€ฆ,โ€ Eunice was uncertain.

Kieran placed a finger on her lip. โ€œNo more buts. Just trust me. Weโ€™ll stage an accident, putting your father in temporary danger. Then, you save him. Heโ€™ll be moved and give in. Then, take advantage of his soft spot, apologize, admit your mistakes. Youโ€™ll regain his trust and return to the Thornton family.โ€

Eunice was amazed. โ€œWill that work?โ€

โ€œOf course, my silly wife. You have to trust your husband,โ€ Kieran chuckled, playfully nudging her nose. โ€œOnce weโ€™re married and Thornton Corporationโ€™s ours, youโ€™ll be the greatest contributor to our household. Everything you want will be yours.โ€

Eunice wavered, tempted by the glorious future. She nodded with fervor. โ€œAll right, Iโ€™ll listen to everything you say.โ€
