Chapter 75: He Actually Ran Away

After some thought, Sebastian flatly refused, “No.”

Madelyn frowned. “We’re already married. What’s the big deal? Well, since he refused, I’ll just make him accept!”

With that thought in mind, Madelyn bit her lip playfully. Suddenly, despite the aching pain throughout her body, she leaped directly from the couch!

She lifted her legs and wrapped them around his waist, clinging to him like a koala.

Sebastian suddenly felt an unexpected weight on his back, surprising him. He quickly tried to shake Madelyn off, exclaiming, “Madelyn, what on earth are you trying to do?”

Madelyn, however, demonstrated her clingy nature. She held onto Sebastian tightly with both hands, refusing to release him. “I want you to carry me upstairs for a bath. Is that a problem?”

Sebastian felt utterly resigned and had no choice but to say in a low voice, “Let go.”

“I don’t care! Darling, you have to carry me to the bath today. If you don’t, I won’t let go!” Madelyn said defiantly, refusing to back down.

“Madelyn Thornton!” Sebastian was exasperated. What is she trying to do?

Madelyn was stubborn and cheeky. Holding onto him, she said, “Sebastian, aren’t we husband and wife? Besides, you’re a man, and I’m a woman. I can’t force you to do anything. I only want you to hold me. That’s not too much to ask, right?”

There was a hint of deceit mixed with persuasion in her words. Sebastian was simply at a loss about what to do with her.

In the end, he had no choice but to try to pry her off him. “Come down.”

“I won’t!” spat Madelyn.

“Come down.”

“I don’t want to! Darling, you’ve always been the best to me. I don’t…”

The two of them were locked in that struggle, one clinging on tightly, the other persistently trying to push the former away.

Suddenly, both of them lost their balance and ended up tumbling onto the couch together!

In an instant, their faces were pressed together, and they could even hear each other’s breaths.

Most importantly, at that moment, Madelyn was sitting on him.

The position was incredibly awkward. Anyone’s imagination would run wild should they witness that scene.

Lydia had just stepped out of the kitchen when she happened upon that scene. Immediately, she blushed.

He didn’t expect to be toppled over by Madelyn. Thus, with a frown, he commanded in a deep voice, “Get up.”

“I won’t.” Madelyn didn’t expect she would end up knocking Sebastian over like that.

However, since that had already happened, she thought she might as well enjoy the moment!

“What on earth are you trying to do?” Sebastian was utterly resigned.

Madelyn continued to act stubbornly, saying, “I won’t get up unless you carry me.”

Upon hearing those words, Sebastian couldn’t help but glower. He inhaled deeply as though holding back something.

When he spoke again, his voice had unavoidably deepened a bit. “Get up.”

Madelyn couldn’t help but feel hesitant, nervously wondering if Sebastian was upset with her.

While she was still in a state of indecision, she suddenly felt something was subtly amiss. Why does his crotch feel…

When Madelyn realized what was going on, her body stiffened instantly.

Upon realizing she had discovered what was happening, Sebastian couldn’t help but wear a gloomy expression. With a swift motion, he rose to his feet.

Without another word, he carried Madelyn up the stairs.

As Madelyn recalled the sensation she experienced earlier, she blushed, and her heart pounded. Sebastian won’t lose control because of this, right? My entire body is still sore! What if I can’t handle such intense activity?

However, she was overthinking it, because after Sebastian delivered her straight into the bathroom, he left.

He seems to be fleeing in a hurry. Is that it? As Madelyn watched Sebastian’s retreating figure, she surprisingly felt a hint of pity.

My body may not be in top shape right now, but I could’ve endured some pain if he wanted to do a little something. Madelyn secretly lamented in her mind before she finally took a bath.

After releasing her, Sebastian rushed to the guest room’s bathroom and took a cold shower.

After a strenuous effort to quell the burning lust within him, Sebastian exhaled deeply. I almost lost control. Had I acted rashly, she might have ended up bedridden for days…

Then, Sebastian collected himself and spent the night in the guest room rather than returning to his room.

Madelyn lay in bed, thinking that Sebastian probably wouldn’t come over, which she was kind of glad about.

After all, her body was sore, so that gave her an opportunity to rest properly.

Therefore, the two of them fell asleep in separate rooms.

Lydia nodded. “Yes. Mr. Lockhart has much work to deal with, so he left early in the morning.”

Upon hearing that, Madelyn inexplicably felt a pang of heartache and couldn’t help but ask, “Does he leave that early every day?”

“Yes.” Lydia nodded. “Mr. Lockhart rarely allowed himself a break. Aside from his time at home, he spent the majority of his time working.”

Upon hearing those words, Madelyn was instantly taken aback. Sebastian is a workaholic?

She didn’t voice his thoughts and continued to eat her meal nonchalantly.

After Madelyn had a casual meal to fill her stomach, she set off for campus.

After arriving at the campus, she originally planned to head straight to the classroom.

However, as she passed by the campus bulletin board, she saw a group of people gathered around it, gesturing and discussing animatedly.

Intrigued, Madelyn couldn’t help but approach the board.

At that moment, Ruth posted a notice on the campus bulletin board critiquing and warning Jillian.

Moreover, in her criticism of Jillian, Ruth used the latter as a negative example: “The once–talented beauty has now been reduced to such a dreadful state. All of this is directly due to her terrible family! Hopefully, everyone will remember Jillian’s lesson this time and avoid making similar mistakes in the future.”

Upon reading that notice, all the students had nothing but complaints about Jillian.

“I knew it. A child raised under those family conditions probably isn’t a good person.”

“Exactly. It’s clear that she was a sugar baby because of her poverty.”

“If it were me, I wouldn’t have done that. From what I see, all this is nothing more than Jillian belittling herself.”

Upon hearing the comments made by those people, Madelyn couldn’t help but frown deeply. No! Jillian is not that kind of person at all. She is wrongfully accused. The report is a clear distortion of the truth! Madelyn thought angrily as she read it. Ruth has really crossed the line this time. A teacher shouldn’t be accusing a student without evidence! Not only that, she publicly issued a critique of Jillian! This is clearly an abuse of power!
