Regret came too late Chapter 51

Listen to this chapter:

The same crowd of audience members from before was still around, but because of the thousands of canceled orders, the platform was hesitant to feature her on the homepage again. As a result, today’s traffic was noticeably limited.

Even so, Grace still managed to sell five thousand orders from noon until midnight. And best of all, she hadn’t ruined things for that annoying Alice.

By the time she ended her livestream, exhaustion had hit her like a tidal wave, and she nearly collapsed on the spot, her vision flickering with black spots.

Mandy gasped in alarm, only then realizing that Grace’s entire body was burning up.

“Are you okay?”

Grace shook her head weakly, her lips completely drained of color. “I’m just a little dizzy.”

“You’re running a fever! Take something for it, quick!”

The workers, busy packing orders, immediately stopped when they saw Grace nearly collapse.

“Ms. Lambert, are you alright? Don’t push yourself. Why don’t you rest for the night? You’ve already pulled an all-nighter.”

“Yeah, there’s no need to rush. We can handle the rest.”

Grace’s throat burned from speaking so much. She took a sip of water before replying, “I’m fine. Keep packing. I’ll just sleep for a few hours.”

Mandy’s heart ached at the sight of her, her eyes turning red. “Don’t overwork yourself. Get some rest. We can all see how hard you’re working. Besides, you sold another hundred thousand pounds today. That’s already amazing.”

Grace managed a small smile, but exhaustion overtook her before she could say anything. She fell asleep instantly.

The workers around her immediately softened their movements, careful not to make any noise that might disturb her. Someone even lit a mosquito coil nearby to keep the bugs away.

Mandy originally wanted to put away Grace’s phone, but curiosity got the better of her. She tapped into Alice’s livestream.

Compared to Grace’s exhaustion, Alice looked radiant. Yet, despite her fresh and glowing appearance, she had only managed to sell three thousand orders.

The chat was filled with gossip about her personal life, and the forced smile on her face was starting to falter.

Then, a man’s hand appeared in the video. It had to be Yancey’s. The two of them were in a room together in the middle of the night, making no effort to be discreet.

So, Grace had been right. These two had already slept together. They were absolutely shameless!

Mandy turned to glance at Grace’s exhausted face, her anger flaring. Without thinking, she typed a message into the chat: “Scumbag couple!”

But her comment was drowned out in the flood of other messages, and Alice didn’t see it. She was too busy going on about Grace. “My sister has always been like this. She’s probably gone home already. She didn’t communicate with the farmers beforehand, so she can’t say anything about it. Honestly, her whole ‘supporting farmers’ thing was just a spur-of-the-moment whim.”

A few sharp-eyed viewers immediately called her out. “Grace ended her livestream not long ago. Stop spreading lies, you fake bitch!”

Alice saw the comment, and her brows furrowed together. Grace hadn’t left yet? Was she still streaming?

Mockery flickered through her eyes, but a moment later, she was smiling again. So, even after failing to process those twenty thousand orders, she was still live streaming? Clearly, she was just trying to compete with her.

How typical of Grace – impulsive and brazen. Then they would see how Grace would fare in the end.
