Her whole body ached. Besides, she was still running a fever, and couldn't reply to messages. It was already the next day when she woke up; her high fever hadn't gone down. The illness hit her suddenly and quickly.
Fortunately, the apples were all sold. After washing up, she opened the door of her room and wanted to go out to grab something to eat. She was starving. After asking the nearby staff, she learned that she had slept through and missed both breakfast and lunchtime. Now, she could only manage some food.
“Mr. Henderson,” she called out once, and Erhan seemed to understand her intention immediately. He tapped the table lightly with his finger and said, “Have a seat.”
Grace let out a sigh of relief and smiled at him. “Then, I’ll dine in.” She was really hungry, and she had no idea how weak she looked at the moment. Her lips were pale, and she had lost several pounds.
When she finished the last sip of soup, a large hand suddenly landed on her forehead. She flinched; it was Ethan’s hand. Even his fingers were cold, and he looked unapproachable. “You have a fever.”
He soon withdrew his hand. She came to her senses and raised her hand to check her forehead temperature too. “I took an antipyretic, but it didn’t work. I’ll be fine after going back…” Her voice was hoarse, and she spoke weakly.
Ethan’s gaze fell on the side of her neck, where a large patch of bruising had spread from her shoulder. “Are you injured?”
She was indeed injured. She was hit by a rake on the first night she arrived in Northbrook. Her back had been stinging for the past few days. During the night, she took a look in the mirror and saw that her entire back was bruised; it was quite terrifying.
“And set after you’re done eating,” he added. She looked at Ethan’s back and suddenly felt that he wasn’t as cold as he seemed. She hadn’t had time to go to the hot spring last night. After resting for half an hour post-meal, she took her bathrobe and went to the hot spring recommended by the staff.
It was said that one’s skin would become smoother after going to the hot spring here. The entire spring spanned over a thousand square feet, and it was shrouded in mist, making it impossible to see anything clearly. When she entered, she could even smell a pleasant scent. She was surprised that such a great place hadn’t been developed yet. If they turned this place into a natural, publicly accessible hot spring hotel, they would make a great fortune.
She remained in the hot spring for about ten minutes and then rested against the edge of the spring. Her cheeks flushed red from the heat. Then she heard the sound of water and turned her head to take a look, only to find Ethan leaning beside her with his eyes closed. She had no idea when he had arrived. She instantly got up from the spring, then remembered she wasn’t wearing anything. She quickly sat back down, her face burning red.
