Listen to this chapter:

"You didn't ask, did you, Dad?"

"How could I have known anything if you hadn't said a word?"

"How could I possibly bring it up myself?" Mike countered.

The father and son, separated by a significant age gap, exchanged glaring looks. Mike relented. "Alright, Dad. I was wrong."

Matthew snorted coldly, turning away. His chest rose and fell, his complexion slightly improved. At least one concern was settled. He turned back to Arnold.

Arnold fidgeted at the bed's edge, cautiously calling, "Grandpa..."

He expected Matthew to respond, perhaps acknowledging he'd pushed too hard, forcing him into marriage with Felicia. Instead, Matthew closed his eyes and slept, ignoring him. Arnold was speechless.

"Grandpa, I was wrong. I shouldn't have defied you. I promise to comply with your wishes, and I won't resist marriage, as long as you stay healthy." Matthew only snorted.

"Grandpa, I mean it. Please trust me again, Grandpa..."

After repeated pleas, Matthew opened one eye. "You promise you won't run away?"

"Yeah! I'll stick to my word!"

Matthew's expression softened at the solemn promise. A hint of a smile appeared. "Alright then, I'll give you one last chance!"

Mike interjected, "Dad, what scheme are you planning this time?"

"You little rascal, I'm doing this for the good of the Lawson family! You wouldn't understand!" Matthew snapped. "The last engagement is behind us; there won't be another."

Just as Mike breathed a sigh of relief, Matthew shocked them all. "There will be no engagement and no wedding. Arnie, listen carefullyโ€”before I close my eyes for good, you must make Felicia willingly marry you!"

Arnold started to protest, but Matthew's deep voice interrupted, "If there's no opportunity, create one. I don't care about your methods; you must get it done!"

Matthew's resolve was unshakeable. He was serious.

Mike asked, "Dad, why must it be Felicia?"

"Don't question me..." Matthew coughed violently, his face paling. He was exhausted, near collapse. "If you want me to pass peacefully, then do as I say!"

Meanwhile, in the dormitory building, Felicia climbed the stairs, feeling her phone vibrate. It was Lance, reporting on Shawn: "Ms. Fuller, Shawn has again lost the thirty million dollars he extorted."

Felicia had predicted this. Shawn had extorted thirty million from Kayla, but instead of paying debts, he gambled it away, convinced his losses were just bad luck. Lance had nearly laughed himself silly when Shawn declared at the table, "I'll get back everything I lost!"
