Listen to this chapter:

Arnold ignored Olivia completely, walking toward a nearby house. He'd seen Felicia enter just moments before, and he still needed to settle their score. Felicia added twigs to the fire, which blazed brightly as small river fish sizzled in the hot oil, filling the air with a delicious aroma. Felicia licked her lips in anticipation.

Macey smiled. "Licia, you must be hungry! Is there anything outside that compares to my fried fish filets?"

Felicia replied eagerly, "Of course not! Nana, you don't know how much I miss your cooking, especially these filets! Even the neighbor kids drool over them!"

"Alright, tonight I'll make you a few special dishes! But ingredients are limited. You should have told me earlier so I could have bought some meat..."

Just as Felicia was about to respond, she sensed a shadow at the door. Looking up, she met Arnold's dark eyes. She frowned, her discomfort evident. "What are you doing here?"

Arnold swallowed, his gaze flickering. He'd intended to confront Felicia, but seeing her tending the fire, a down-to-earth contrast to her usual aloofness, caught him off guard.

Macey noticed the tension. Misunderstanding, she smiled. "Licia, is this your friend? Since he's here, invite him to dinner!"

Felicia wanted to refuse, but Arnold beat her to it. "Thank you very much." Felicia was speechless. What is this idiot doing? Is he deliberately trying to annoy me? she thought.

Arnold perceived Felicia's displeasure; his polite smile hinted at triumph. Felicia scoffed.

Then, Olivia entered. Seeing the scene, she clucked her tongue in disdain. "Felicia, I heard you were taken back to the Fuller family after growing up in the countryside. Is this your home? It's destitute! Everything is a mess. The toilet in my house is bigger than this place. Even a dog wouldn't live here!"

Olivia's family ran the second-largest catering business in Khogend. While she usually didn't flaunt her wealth there, her superiority complex flourished in this place she considered beneath her. Her words dripped with malice.

Felicia's expression darkened. "Get the hell out of here."

"Oh, so you don't allow people to speak? Do you think I want to be in a place like this? What a joke!" Olivia then had an idea. She raised her phone and snapped a photo of Felicia. "I'm going to post this in the school group chat to show how our little country bumpkin struggles to start a fire!" She then turned her camera toward Macey.
