Listen to this chapter:

The man's tall figure, veiled in moonlight as if by a thin mist, strode forward. The silvery light fell on his shoulders. His stunning face, heart-stoppingly handsome, captivated Felicia's gaze. It was Stephan Russell. He still carried a small white puppy, its scruff gently pinched between his long, pale fingers, keeping it subdued. The puppy whimpered softly.

Felicia's expression shifted noticeably at Stephan's appearance. When had he arrived? How much had he witnessed? Shawn Fuller, however, was overjoyed. Seeing another person, he believed he might be saved. His eyes twinkled with hope as he yelled, "Help! Please! This wicked girl is trying to kill me!"

The distance to the waterfall wasn't great, but a bloody trail marred the grass. Shawn lay in a pitiful state, while Felicia remained clean and composed. The scene suggested a crime in progress, especially given their discovery. It was undeniably awkward.

Shawn, unaware of the newcomer's identity, saw him as a potential savior. He cried out, "Sir, help me! This witch is trying to kill me! Help me throw her off the cliff, and I'll pay you a lot of money!"

Felicia was speechless. Shawn, oblivious to the thickening tension, continued his pleas. "Hurry up! I, Shawn Fuller, will keep my word! Get rid of this girl, and I'll pay you five hundred thousand dollars! A million! A million dollars will do, right?"

His escalating offers went unanswered, and Shawn finally sensed something was wrong. He looked up at Stephan, his heart plummeting. An invisible hand seemed to clamp his throat, a wave of murderous intent washing over him, chilling him to the bone.

"You... You're..." Shawn's face paled, his lips trembling, unable to speak.

Stephan ignored him, looking calmly at Felicia. "Do you want me to show you how it's done?"

"Show me what?" Felicia blinked, confused, until she saw the faint smirk. She realized he offered to demonstrate how to dispose of a body.

Felicia waved her hands. "No need for that." She hadn't planned on killing Shawn so quickly; she wanted him to reveal Lucas's whereabouts. Killing him now would be too easy. "Oh," Stephan said, sounding slightly disappointed.

Shawn, still on the ground, wasn't a fool. He saw the familiarity between Stephan and Felicia, a deep connection evident in their interaction. "Now that's just great. You're in this together!"
