Chapter 189

Felicia didn't appear on the first day back in Khogend, nor the second. By the third day, Stephan's expression had darkened considerably. He summoned his subordinate, demanding, "What has she been doing these past few days?"

The subordinate, well aware of Stephan's interest in Felicia, nervously replied, "Ms. Fuller has visited the library four times, gone shopping once, and spent the rest of her time attending classes."

Stephan erupted in angry laughter. She had time for shopping, but not for him?

The subordinate, sensing Stephan's displeasure, cautiously suggested, "Mr. Russell, perhaps we should visit her?"

"No!" Stephan's voice was sharp and dismissive.

The subordinate quickly retreated, only to hear Stephan's calm, cold voice again as he reached the door: "Prepare the car."

"Understood!"

A sleek black luxury car, worth millions, soon arrived at the school entrance. Coincidentally, Felicia emerged, carrying a package containing a chew toy for Cloud. The dog had gained weight recently, and its incessant nighttime barking, disturbing students and teachers alike, had become a significant headache for Felicia.

Unseeing, she hurried along, oblivious to the black luxury car parked nearby. The window was partially lowered, revealing Stephan's resentful, barely concealed anger fixed upon her. By the time she noticed and looked back, the car was gone.

She shook her head, dismissing it as her imagination, and hurried back to the dorm. Cloud's excited barking greeted her at the door.

"Cloud, would you like to go to Stephan's place today?" Felicia asked, rubbing the dog's head.

Cloud, though lacking comprehension, licked her hand affectionately. Felicia had considered keeping Cloud, but its nighttime barking was disruptive. With an upcoming day-long medical consultation assisting Clive, she couldn't leave Cloud alone in the dorm.

That evening, after dinner, Felicia packed Cloud's things, leaving the bag's zipper slightly open. Its head popped out, big round eyes curiously surveying its surroundings.

She hailed a taxi, providing the address. However, after over half an hour, the taxi stopped at the Russell estate, a location unknown to the public. Stephan's relocation from Seldvale to Khogend remained a secret.

After paying the fare, Felicia removed Cloud from the bag. The dog remained well-behaved, walking quietly beside her.

Just as she reached the doorbell, the roar of an approaching engine caught her attention. A silver sports car sped toward the estate entrance. A leg clad in silver high heels emerged first.
