Listen to this chapter:

Felicia said irritably, "You're pulling on my clothes! Of course I'm angry."

Stephan shook his head. "It's not that kind of anger."

"What kind of anger is it then?"

"You're angry because of that actress."

Speechless for a moment, she couldn't believe he'd say such a thing. It sounded ambiguous.

After a long pause, she finally asked, "Aren't you uninterested in women?"

"Yes."

Stephan seemed to think, his profile sharp and defined. From Felicia's angle, she saw his dark, slightly arched eyebrows and eyes, hidden beneath his lashes. His skin was smooth, his nose high, and his lips incredibly attractive. A slight upward curl of his lips made her heart race.

Mesmerized, she watched as he turned his head, his deep, dark eyes meeting hers. The moonlight cast shadows, dimming everything, yet he stood there, like a deity, irresistibly commanding her attention. "But if it's you, I wouldn't mind."

Felicia was taken aback. He... he just said what?

The atmosphere froze. Regaining her composure, she realized why he'd say something that sounded almost like a confession: a sense of responsibilityโ€”because of that night a couple of months ago when they'd ended up together by chance.

She cleared her throat. "Are you trying to take responsibility? Or do you just not dislike me, so you're a little interested?"

Stephan took a step closer, his breath brushing against her, his tone playful and teasing. "I'm not sure, but if you want to know, we could do it again."

Felicia nearly choked. Her question was blunt; his answer even blunter. He wasn't sure if he wanted responsibility for that night or if he was simply interested in repeating it and figuring things out. She practically fled. She couldn't deal with this.

As she rushed from the villa, his voice came from behind. She looked back to see him, holding Cloud, elegant with a hint of arrogance. "I accept your dowry," he said.

Felicia was speechless.

She hurried through the villa gates, and as she stepped out, a car pulled up. It was Stephan's private car, recognizable by its distinctive license plate. But he wasn't in it.

The driver opened the back door. "Ms. Fuller, please get in. Mr. Russell asked me to take you back," he said respectfully.

Getting a taxi from the Russell estate wasn't easy, so Felicia didn't hesitate. She nodded slightly and got in. "Thank you." The luxury car sped away, its taillights disappearing into the distance.

Stephan stood by the large window on the second floor, watching the car leave. A moment later, he seemed to remember something and called Mike. Mike, who had been playing with his daughter, was surprised. "Mr. Russell, long time no see," he teased. Stephan said only, "Keep an eye on your nephew; make sure he stays away from Felicia."

Mike was stunned. The call ended, the brief conversation confirming it wasn't a misunderstanding. He blinked, then burst into laughter.
