Listen to this chapter:

The Lawsons were Khogend's most powerful family. Their estate, guarded like a fortress with imposing walls, electric fencing, a secure gate, and numerous bodyguards, was no match for the military Humvees that smashed through its defenses. Walls crumbled, the gate splintered, and the glare of the approaching headlights blinded the guards, who fled in terror. Those unable to escape were thrown aside by the Humvees' relentless assault, their screams echoing through the night.

In moments, half the Lawson residence lay in ruins, resembling a battlefield. Undeterred, the Humvees continued their rampage, destroying the front gate, ornamental pond, and finally, crashing through the villa's French windows into the grand hall.

The ensuing chaos roused Mr. Lawson Senior. A bodyguard burst in, breathlessly reporting, "Mr. Lawson Senior, this is bad! At least twenty military Humvees have breached the gates and are storming the villa!"

"Help me up!" Mr. Lawson Senior demanded, his voice laced with fury. He needed to know who dared invade his home.

Quickly dressing, he emerged to a shocking sight: a Humvee in the grand hall. His rage intensified. From the staircase, he thundered, "Who are you people? Do you know where you are?" His commanding presence, usually enough to intimidate, failed against Stephan, who emerged from a Humvee. With a flick of his wrist, the vehicle roared toward the staircase. Mr. Lawson's bodyguard froze in terror.

Just as the Humvee seemed poised to crush Mr. Lawson, it screeched to a halt inches away. The bodyguard collapsed, pale with fright. Mr. Lawson, brushing him aside, cautiously approached Stephan, who stood amidst the wreckage.

In a severe but cautious tone, Mr. Lawson said, "Mr. Russell, our families have no quarrel. What is the meaning of this?"

Stephan was impatient. "Hand over Felicia."

Mr. Lawson's mind raced. "Felicia is my family's future daughter-in-law. What business is she of yours, Mr. Russell?"

At the mention of "future daughter-in-law," a murderous glint entered Stephan's eyes. The air chilled as he said, "Old man, it seems you've grown tired of living."

Mr. Lawson attempted to stall, but Stephan, unyielding, ordered, "Search the place. Now!" His highly trained subordinates immediately began a systematic search.

At that moment, Arnold and Felicia appeared at the top of the staircase. Mr. Lawson Senior's eyes flickered with hope.
