Listen to this chapter:

Harvey's claims were so exaggerated that the other physicians at Harmony Medical Center were sweating profusely, their faces flushed. Even the renowned Clive would have silenced him; he was utterly shameless!

Harvey, however, remained confident. His gaze fixed on the paralyzed legs of the man in the wheelchair as he boasted, "Only our clinic can treat your legs!"

"Oh?" The man in the wheelchair's eyes shifted. "Are you sure?"

The nearby physicians were so anxious they nearly silenced Harvey themselves. Such a bold assertion, without absolute certainty, was a grave medical taboo! But Harvey lacked humility. He saw numerous physicians, all long-time followers of Clive, within the clinic. How could they fail at such a simple task? Thus, with unwavering assurance, he replied, "Of course!"

The man in the wheelchair lowered his eyes, pausing before suppressing a flicker of hope. He'd heard such promises before, each time igniting hope only to be met with deeper despair. He folded his hands, speaking slowly, "If you can treat it, I'll give you a mountain of gold. But if you deceive me... heh... I'll burn your clinic to the ground!"

Harvey only heard the first part. "I'll be waiting for your mountain of gold then!" he declared, waving a hand at the assembled physicians. "Why are you all standing there? Treat this gentleman's legs! Cure him!" The lower-ranked physicians exchanged dismayed glances. Harvey had boasted, and now they were expected to prove him right.

However, there were exceptions. Harvey had recently hired two highly accomplished medical experts, their reputations rivaling Clive's. Their arrogance matched Harvey's. Upon hearing his command, they remained calm, exuding an aura of expertise. "You handle the diagnosis," they instructed the others. "We'll intervene only if you fail."

Their confident demeanor reassured the other physicians, who began examining the man in the wheelchairโ€”Maurice.

Maurice's subordinates whispered excitedly, "Mr. Glovers, there's hope!"

Maurice remained silent, his fingers tapping thoughtfully. Physician after physician examined him, each sighing and shaking their head.

The two medical masters sneered. "Are you all useless? Why can't you diagnose the cause?" They stepped in, their confidence unwavering. Maurice's gaze sharpened. His subordinates held their breath.

After examining Maurice, the two masters' confident demeanor evaporated. Sweat beaded on their foreheads. Their earlier composure shattered, they stood flustered and speechless.

Maurice closed his eyes, then snapped them open, his amber pupils blazing. His voice, icy cold, filled the room. "Burn this place down. Burn it all. Not a single beam or board should remain!"
