Maurice maintained his usual composed demeanor, exuding a scholarly, polite air as he replied, "Of course." Felicia's lips curled into a bright smile. "Thank you in advance, Mr. Glovers." The atmosphere remained pleasant, at least superficially.

Just as Felicia was about to leave, a small group appeared on the path ahead. Leading them was an elderly woman with a kind face, supported by two maids. She hurried toward the hot spring. The men carrying Felicia's medical kit immediately greeted her, "Mrs. Glovers Senior." Felicia raised an eyebrow but remained silent.

Kelsey, upon reaching Maurice and seeing him standing, broke into a beaming smile. Her joy was palpable, her voice trembling with emotion. "Wonderful! Absolutely wonderful! My grandson is standing again!" She clasped her hands together, murmuring, "Praise be!" several times before continuing, "This is the best news I've heard in years! But you, child, how could you keep this from me? I only heard about it from the maids!"

Maurice's lips curved slightly, but his eyes remained cool. "You've been so focused on your prayers; I didn't want to disturb you."

"No way!" Kelsey wiped away the tears forming in her eyes. "How could this be a disturbance? I've been praying every day for your legs to heal, and now they have! It's a miracle!" Her voice cracked with joy.

But Maurice's response was distant, his tone lukewarm, his eyes betraying a faint trace of mockery. Felicia blinked, sensing the subtle tension between them. She had no interest in family affairs, especially those as seemingly complex as the Glovers'. Staying uninvolved seemed wisest.

She was about to leave when Maurice smoothly steered the conversation back to her. "It's all thanks to this miracle doctor," he said. "She's the one who healed my legs."

Kelsey turned her attention to Felicia for the first time. With her maids' help, she approached, her kind expression softening further. "Ms. Fuller, you've done such a wonderful thing for my grandson. You're an honored friend to the Glovers family now. If you ever need anything, know that we will do whatever we can." Her words were warm and genuine, carrying the light scent of sandalwood.

Felicia smiled politely, though inwardly she mused, "I'm in trouble right now. Perhaps Mr. Glovers could start by letting me leave tomorrow after the last treatment." She knew better than to voice this. Rumors of friction between Maurice and his grandmother circulated, and his attitude suggested their truth. The Glovers' family dynamics appeared complex and volatile. Felicia had no desire to unravel them.

She exchanged pleasantries before politely excusing herself and returning to her suite in Bamboo Court. Once there, the men respectfully placed her medical kit down, asking, "Ms. Fuller, please let us know if you need anything."

"Got it," she replied.

Hunger gnawed at her. She casually instructed a maid, "Make me some pasta with prawns." As an honored guest, Felicia had numerous attendants, but one stood out—the maid with the disfigured face. She worked diligently, quietly hovering, her presence unobtrusive.

Soon, the scarred maid entered with a steaming plate of pasta. The aroma lifted Felicia's gaze from her laptop game. The pasta looked delicious, topped with a perfectly cooked prawn and parsley. Felicia ate with enjoyment. The maid quietly cleared the table when she finished.
