Why did Stephan do that? Johanna couldn't understand. She almost wanted to confront him, demanding an explanation. But she knew he'd destroyed the clues, signifying his desire for secrecy. Even a confrontation wouldn't yield answers.

So, what if she told Imogen? If Imogen caused a scene, Stephan might be concerned. No, that wouldn't work. Imogen was pregnant and under close observation; any stress could harm her child, and Johanna would be blamed. More importantly, the Russell siblings' bond was strong. Even knowing the truth, Imogen would likely believe Stephan's explanation.

No one else could be relied upon. This revenge was hers to take. Johanna clenched the papers, her eyes burning with intense hatred. "Dexter Fuller," she repeated silently, immediately searching for him online.

Even though the Fuller family weren't Khogend's wealthiest, their influence remained considerable. She needed to topple them first. News reports revealed their loss of top status stemmed from protecting an adopted daughter who had committed murder—a scandal waiting to be exploited. The Fullers had handed her this opportunity on a silver platter.

A plan began to form in Johanna's mind.

Around noon, Felicia purchased two properties: a villa for herself and a three-bedroom apartment for Carmen. Both contracts were signed, and payment processed. The apartment was furnished and move-in ready; only appliances and furniture needed to be added. The villa required renovation, but Felicia had the funds. She contacted a renovation company, finalized plans, and made payment, allowing them to manage the project. Renovations would likely take two or three months.

The real estate agent, delighted, went above and beyond, even escorting Felicia to her apartment and holding an umbrella for her.

Upstairs, she knocked on Carmen's apartment door (702), but received no answer. Assuming Carmen was out, Felicia called her. The background noise sounded like a bustling market.

Returning to her apartment, Felicia poured water and asked, "When will you be back?"

"Soon. You get the food ready, and I'll be there. Let's have a drink later!" Carmen replied, spotting a food stand. Her eyes lit up. "I'm going to buy some salad. What do you want? I'll ask the owner to add more."

"Mm…" Felicia considered, listing items. "Lettuce, tomatoes, and onions."

"Got it! I'll be back after I buy everything. Wait for me!"

Carmen ended the call, selected vegetables, and approached the stall, ordering the requested ingredients and adding some of her favorites.
