Listen to this chapter:

Felicia gave a soft "mm" and said nothing more. The four Glover family subordinates exchanged glances, each wanting to speak but hesitating. They wished to offer comfort but didn't know how to begin. They wanted to mention their diligent search, even checking rooftops of nearby buildings, but these words felt insufficient. What was done was done. Their failure to protect her was undeniable; further words would only exacerbate the frustration.

One by one, they left. Felicia remained alone in the rental apartment, the silence heavy, the space empty. She sat on the couch for a long time, then opened her laptop. With swift movements, she accessed an underground trading site. After browsing, she found a leaderboard of notorious hitmen, those at the top commanding higher fees.

Her gaze fixed on the third entry. The leaderboard displayed only codenames, not photos. This person's codename was "Baldy." He was unique among the top ten for his rifle expertise, and his fee was astronomical—a staggering 150 million for a single job! He was a prominent figure, a formidable force.

Felicia stared at the record, then issued a global bounty: five billion. The task was simple: "Capture Baldy. His survival is the only requirement!" The unprecedented reward instantly threw the underworld into chaos. Countless individuals sharpened their skills and resources, vying to track Baldy down. Felicia even imposed a 24-hour deadline.

After issuing the bounty, she closed her laptop and waited silently. With such a substantial reward, she was confident brave souls would undertake the task, and Baldy would be apprehended within 24 hours. She wasn't certain Baldy was the sniper who shot her and killed Carmen, but it didn't matter. She could identify him based on his appearance once he was brought to her. If it wasn't him, she could always issue another bounty. No matter where he was, he wouldn't escape.

Felicia suppressed her anger, her eyes cold and resolute. Then, her phone rang. She answered, but it wasn't the message she awaited—a call from Union Clinic.

"What is it?"

"Ms. Fuller, a patient seeks treatment. They want your assistance with an eye condition and said you can set the fee." The physician paused. "You can charge whatever you wish."

The person was essentially throwing money at her. Normally, Felicia would have agreed, but she wasn't in the mood. "Tell them to leave," she said, hanging up without hesitation.

The physician at Union Clinic, left with no option, tactfully declined the patient. "I'm sorry, miss, but my mentor is very busy and unavailable for consultations. You could try someone else or return in a few days."

The patient was Johanna. She had no eye problems. Her inquiry about Union Clinic wasn't solely for Imogen's treatment; she truly wanted to see Felicia.
