Chapter 432
The man looked down, his thumb brushing against his left wrist. A faint bite mark was there, imprinted, it seemed, on his very soul.
As Felicia left the medical center after a long day, she became worried about Stephan’s injury and wondered if he had any Panax pseudo-ginseng left. So, she returned to the medical center, grabbed the last two bottles of Panax pseudo-ginseng, and took a cab directly to the Russell estate.
Reaching the entrance, she hesitated. Her last visit hadn't gone well. She doubted she would even be allowed entry. Felicia clenched her teeth and pressed the doorbell. Suddenly, the automatic gate opened, and a small white dog ran toward her, barking ecstatically.
"Canada!"
The dog, its tail wagging furiously, darted to Felicia's feet. It rubbed its head against her legs and rolled onto its back, whining softly, begging for attention. Felicia patted Cloud's head. Months had passed since she last saw him, and he had grown considerably. She could see he was well cared for.
Lifting her head, she saw Stephan a short distance away, shrouded in the shadows of the fading light, seeming impossibly distant.
Before Felicia could react, Stephan effortlessly covered the ground in a few strides. The distance vanished instantly, as if he had stepped from another world into hers. Felicia didn't show her surprise. She wasn't sure why she had such a poetic thought. She blinked, embarrassed, relieved he hadn't noticed.
"Stephan! How's your injury? I brought some medication. It's good for wound healing." She quickly produced the two bottles and handed them to him.
He lifted his eyelids slightly, his dark pupils as deep as a cold pool. He stared at Felicia for a few seconds; his gaze seemed to linger on her face. A torrent of thoughts crashed into her mind—like waves, or a scorching flame—stunning her. She almost fled.
Finally, he said calmly, "My injury hasn't healed yet. You'll have to take care of it for me."
Did he mean to have her change his dressing? She thought she would... but as soon as they entered the villa, Stephan slowly walked upstairs to his bedroom.
Felicia hesitated at his door, unsure whether to enter.
A tense voice came from inside. "What's wrong? Are you afraid I might do something to you?"
Felicia flinched.
She calmed herself and entered, deliberately leaving the door ajar. Stephan casually removed his jacket and began unbuttoning his shirt, one button at a time. His slender, defined hands moved with a calm, oddly deliberate pace—a little too slow, almost as if he were trying to seduce her.
Felicia rubbed her nose, suppressing her annoyance. She stood obediently aside, her gaze fixed firmly on her feet.
To her surprise, Stephan said, "My hand hurts. Take off my clothes for me."
