Gabrielle considered this and agreed, though some concerns lingered. “Pete asked me to be kind to Kayla. Could it be that he's interested in marrying her?”

The maid chuckled, and Gabrielle found the idea equally amusing. “I must be overthinking. Don't I know my son's taste? There's no way he'd fancy someone like Kayla.”

Kayla arrived at the Fuller residence with eight bodyguards.

Myra was hanging laundry when the door opened. Expecting Dexter, she turned to call out, but was met with unexpected intruders.

“Who are you? Get out!” Myra shouted, only to see the bodyguards part, revealing a strikingly dressed Kayla. Myra's expression shifted. She deeply regretted her earlier neglect in not replacing the door's lock.

Now that they were inside, Myra retreated, asking coldly, “What do you want, Kayla?”

“Mom, don’t be nervous. I’m here to invite you as a guest. Aunt Gabrielle asked me to bring both of you.”

“Get out! You’re not welcome here, and I won’t go with you!” Myra’s face paled, her tone firm.

Kayla anticipated this. She signaled her bodyguards. “So, you want to do this the hard way? What are you standing around for? Take her!”

The bodyguards moved toward Myra. She screamed and fled to the bedroom, locking the door.

This proved difficult. Dexter, when replacing the doors for his family's safety, had chosen sturdy, key-only access models.

Kayla sneered, instructing the bodyguards, “Ignore her. Once Dexter returns, she’ll come out. I have plenty of time.” Inside, Myra frantically searched for her phone, only to realize it was on the dining table. “Damn it!” she cursed.

That day, Dexter stood penitently outside Union Clinic, hoping to see Felicia. As a father, he desperately wanted to atone. But Felicia merely said, “Stop pestering me. That’s the best way to make it up to me.”

Dexter trudged home dejectedly. Passing a bakery with discounts, he remembered Myra’s craving for blueberry cake and bought a slice.

Entering the house, he found strangers inside! Alarmed, fearing those hunting him for the map, he drew a hidden knife.

Then, a woman in opulent clothing stepped forward. It was Kayla.

“Don’t be nervous, Dad. It’s me. I just came back.”

Seeing Kayla, Dexter's attitude changed completely. This stemmed not only from a past-life vision but also her ruthless attempt to kill him at the hospital.
