Listen to this chapter:

Hubert smiled and asked, "Is the 'country bumpkin' you're talking about Felicia?"

Melvin was surprised. "Wait, Dad, how did you know?" He was about to flatter his father further, but received several hard slaps to the face.

"Dad, stop hitting me! Ouch, that hurts!" Melvin was yanked by the ear and kicked, landing him before Clive.

Hubert reprimanded him firmly. "What have you done, you rascal? I usually let your antics slide, but playing kidnapper? That's going too far."

Melvin finally understood. "So it was Felicia, that country bumpkin, who reported me?" This earned him another round of punishment.

Panting, Hubert turned to Clive. "I'm truly sorry, Mr. Walsh Senior. This won't happen again, I promise." He glared at Melvin. "Apologize to Mr. Walsh Senior."

Melvin mumbled a reluctant apology, his defiance evident. He hadn't done anything wrong; the apology felt unwarranted.

Clive's expression remained inscrutable. Glancing at his watch, he stood to leave. "I need to leave town for a few days. An emergency patient requires my attention. I can't stay longer." He wouldn't return for at least three to five days.

Panic jolted Hubert. He chased after Clive. "Mr. Walsh Senior, you can't leave! You have to help me."

Clive didn't look back, but as he walked away with Damon, he said, "My granddaughter, Felicia, is the heiress of Harmony Medical Center. Don't underestimate her; she possesses incredible medical skills. If you need help, ask her."

Clive entered his car and drove to the airport. Hubert stood, the wind chilling him, his headache intensifying.

Melvin scoffed. "Dad, isn't there another medical expert in Khogend? Do we really have to beg him?"

Hubert, too frustrated to engage with Melvin, explained. He'd consulted many doctors; all declared him healthy. They'd checked his pulse, finding nothing amiss. Yet, he suffered a debilitating headacheโ€”the reason for his repeated pleas to Clive.

He looked at Melvin with frustration. "Of all people to offend, why herโ€”Mr. Walsh Senior's granddaughter?" Even the most influential figures in Khogend treated Clive, a medical master, with utmost respect, addressing him as "Mr. Walsh Senior." No one dared offend him lightly.

"It seems I have no choice but to ask Felicia for help."

"Dad, are you joking? Ask her? No way, I'm not going!"

"Youโ€”" Hubert's anger choked his words. He wanted to shout that if Melvin hadn't offended Felicia, Clive would have already helped them. Before he could speak, however, Hubert fell backward.

"Dad!" Ignoring the pain in his hand, Melvin rushed to catch him, both falling to the ground. Melvin's hand bled slightly, but he was unharmed. Hubert, however, was unconscious. "Go find Felicia! Bring her here!"

Melvin shouted at his lackeys. Seeing their stunned silence, he panicked. "You two, inside. I'll go find Felicia."
