Listen to this chapter:

There was no sign of a penetrating scar. Felicia lowered her gaze and slowly retracted her hand. Searler, who had passively observed Felicia's actions, found it amusing and asked, "What are you looking for?"

"It's nothing," Felicia replied faintly, convincing herself she was overthinking. For now, more pressing matters demanded her attentionโ€”helping Stephan detoxify and cure his blindness. She didn't have much time left.

Felicia grimly considered the venomous creature within her. The parasite had fused with her very being, making removal impossible. Each chime of the bronze bell awakened the parasite, and each instance of its control lengthened its hold. Eventually, she would lose her mind entirely, becoming a puppet. She would rather die than let that happen. But first, she needed to cure Stephan's eyes, then unearth the person who had plotted against her. Even if it meant mutual destruction, she would take that bastard down.

Felicia returned to the storeroom. The formula she'd used yesterday lacked potency. She pondered substituting different herbs and incorporating acupuncture to neutralize the poison. She worked tirelessly, covering the desk with over a dozen sheets of paper filled with her hasty notes, recording treatment methods and herbal prescriptions. Each attempt ended in failure, but she persisted.

Meanwhile, the eight other senior physicians and medical masters treated patients. Despite the bustling activity, the clinic maintained order. Then, another unwelcome guest arrived: Sebastian.

After finding Felicia's villa empty, Sebastian came to the clinic. A quick inquiry confirmed Felicia's return from the rainforest. Visibly anxious, he called out, "Licia, where are you? I need to talk to you!"

In the past, Sebastian wouldn't have passed the clinic's entrance; Kerry would have unceremoniously ejected him. But Kerry was away delivering medicine, and everyone else was preoccupied. Sebastian strolled unimpeded into the clinic, shouting Felicia's name.

Felicia had no intention of confronting him. She glanced at Scarlet, who immediately understood and stepped out. "Just throw him out," Felicia instructed. "But don't hit him too hard. We don't want to tarnishโ€”"

"Got it!"

At the consultation room entrance, Sebastian was about to open the third door when he felt a tap on his shoulder. "Felโ€ฆ" He spun around, thinking it was Felicia, but before he could finish, a fish slammed into his nose.

Sebastian groaned in pain as warmth surged from his nostrils. Blood gushed instantly. Standing before him was a tall, alluring woman, exuding both charm and menace.

"Who are you? Where's Felicia? I want to see her!" Sebastian demanded, wiping the blood from his nose. His brows furrowed when he didn't see Felicia.

Scarlet, uninterested in conversation, threw another punch. This time, Sebastian was prepared and narrowly dodged. They quickly engaged in a fight. Sebastian had some self-defense training, common for wealthy heirs. However, his skills were no match for Scarlet, a battle-hardened mercenary.

Quickly, Sebastian was beaten. His handsome face bore two bruises, his mouth was bleeding, and he looked utterly disheveled. After tossing him out, Scarlet dusted her hands. "My boss said she's cut ties with you and your family. Do her a favor and stop bothering her," she said.
