Soon, Archie would have his dream come trueโtotal control of the Russell family and the mastery of its future. The immense wealth and power would soon be his. All who had scorned him would be trampled; all who had bullied him would pay. A satisfied smile played on Archie's lips. However, upon looking up, he saw Stanley's impassive face barring the door to Stephan's room. Stanley stood there, radiating a menacing aura, a highly aggressive dog. He was no longer the friendly figure Archie once knew; sharp hostility emanated from him.
"What are you smiling about?" Stanley asked.
Archie's smile vanished.
Stanley stepped forward, pointing at Archie. "Why are you so happy?" he pressed.
"I wasn't smiling. You're mistaken. I was simply concerned about Mr. Russell," Archie replied calmly. He had, after all, orchestrated everything perfectly, enjoying the Carrell family's behind-the-scenes support. This confidence solidified his stance.
Without warning, Stanley punched Archie, sending him sprawling.
Johanna, following close behind, gasped and rushed to Archie's aid. Furious, she glared at Stanley. "What are you doing? How dare you hit my brother?"
Even Imogen, startled by the commotion, turned her cold gaze on Stanley. "Stanley, are you trying to rebel?"
"I wouldn't dare," Stanley replied, unyielding, a nonchalant smile playing on his lips. "Ms. Russell, you know I'm Mr. Russell's dog. I'll deal with anyone who disrespects him."
A sharp slap echoed, leaving a red mark across Stanley's face. Imogen withdrew her hand, her palm tingling. "Apologize to Archie! Right now!" she commanded, each word heavy with ice.
Stanley glanced at Archie and Johanna, their expressions smug and angry. "Ms. Russell, I'm afraid I can't comply."
Imogen trembled with rage, shoving Stanley. "Get out of my way! I'm going in!" Her voice was sharp, commanding.
Stanley remained firm. "I'm sorry, Ms. Russell, but Mr. Russell's orders are that no one is allowed in."
Imogen stared, incredulous. "Even me?"
Speechless, fury blurred her vision, but concern ultimately superseded her anger. She abandoned the earlier incident. "How is Stephan now? Why did Dr. Hughes leave with his team? Why didn't you stop them?"
"It wasn't necessary. Mr. Russell's condition is very bad; even Dr. Hughes can't help," Stanley said, his head bowed, his voice tinged with melancholy, a tremor betraying his emotion.
Imogen nearly collapsed. "Why did this happen? Didn't you say the toxins were under control? Didn't you say the situation was stable?"
"Mr. Russell's condition was stable. Dr. Hughes said he would wake soon, but after today's infusion, his condition worsened. The cause is poisoning!"
Stanley's gaze flickered to Archie, a trace of mockery in his eyes. "What a coincidence. Mr. Rosario's return coincides with Mr. Russell's coma. Shortly after his return, Mr. Russell was poisoned and is now in a hopeless state! I say, Mr. Rosario, the person who poisoned Mr. Russell wouldn't be you, would it?"
