Chapter 629

โ€œBring her here immediately! You have two days, at most!โ€ The man in the black robe, his presence overwhelming, issued the command in an irrefutable tone. โ€œIf I donโ€™t see her within two days, you know the consequences!โ€

Without waiting for Peteโ€™s reply, the man vanished. He leaped from the second-floor terrace and melted into the darkness.

Pete smiled faintly, but his expression quickly turned dark and grim. Regardless, certain things had to be done. He descended, summoning his subordinates to locate Felicia. The investigation would be time-consuming, especially since Felicia was in Khogend. He waited two and a half hours.

News of Feliciaโ€™s location arrived, accompanied by six cars heading toward the Cartell residence. From a distance, Pete saw Stephan. Stephan was unharmed; the news from the Russell family was false.

โ€œI need to escape!โ€ Pete cursed Archie mentally, a useless fool. The erroneous information had prompted the wrong orders! Stephanโ€™s presence meant he was here to eliminate Pete.

He fled. En route, he checked a message from his subordinates: Felicia had chartered a private jet from Khogend to Seldvale days ago. If she was in Seldvale, she had to be at the Russell residence.

A thrill surged through Pete; a smile played on his lips. He redirected his subordinates. โ€œTo the Russell residence!โ€

If Stephan had come personally, then heโ€ฆ Too bad, he came up empty-handed. Felicia had arrived in Seldvale and entered the Russell residence, but a search yielded nothing.

Peteโ€™s excitement curdled into bitter disappointment. Frustration gnawed at him, but escape was paramount. If Stephan didnโ€™t find him at the Cartell residence, he would return. Then escape would be impossible.

As Pete prepared to leave, he saw Johanna attempting to hang herself. Without hesitation, he broke a window and rescued her, offering her a chance at revenge if she came with him.

Johanna nodded.

Leaving the Russell residence with Johanna and Archie's body, Pete received a call. The man in the black robe was cursing, his composure shattered, his voice frantic and wild. It was unclear who he cursed, but his rage extended to Pete, unleashed in a torrent of invective.

Pete remained calm. โ€œSir, please compose yourself. What happened?โ€
