Scarlet shifted gears and accelerated, sending up a cloud of dust as the car sped away. It quickly disappeared from view.

It wasn't until Maurice was completely out of sight that Scarlet finally spoke. "Boss," she said, "do you really think he went to all that trouble just for a bottle of medicine? Doesn't thatโ€”"

"I don't know," Felicia replied with a frown. Maurice's unpredictable nature always kept her on edge. Though he had toned it down recentlyโ€”even letting Dexter and Myra go during the rainforest incidentโ€”it didn't change the fact that he was a dangerous man. The best way to deal with someone like him was to stay far away.

A thought suddenly struck Felicia. She glanced at the back of her hand, where Maurice had patted her earlier. That spot felt faintly itchy. But after inspecting it closely, she saw nothing unusual. Was it just her imagination?

Shaking her head, Felicia muttered, "I should keep my distance next time."

Before long, the car returned to the Russell residence.

Later that evening, Stephan arrived home. Felicia was in the bedroom, packing her belongings. She had arrived on short notice with almost nothing, but after a few days at the Russell residence, her things had somehow multiplied. Stephan had insisted on buying her clothes and essentials, filling her walk-in closet.

Not wanting to bother with a suitcase, Felicia packed only the items she had used into a backpack. As she zipped it up, the bedroom door swung open. Felicia looked up to see Stephan walking toward her, unbuttoning his shirt. The bright lights made everything feel surreal, and even up close, his handsome features seemed almost too perfect.

Felicia cleared her throat and was about to look away when Stephan cupped her chin, tilting her head upward. A moment later, his lips pressed against hers. "Did you miss me?" he asked.

Felicia blinked. "Do you want the truth or a lie?"

The answer was obvious. Stephan chuckled, then teasingly bit her lip. "I knew you'd say that, you heartless little thing."

Felicia laughed. "Alright, I missed you a little!" She held up her fingers to show just how tiny "a little" was. Stephan raised an eyebrow, smirking. "Is that your idea of comforting me?"

Felicia was tempted to tease him further but decided against it for the sake of her sleep. She offered a few sweet words, finally coaxing a smile from his dark, brooding eyes. However, she underestimated Stephan's knack for payback. That single comment led to him teasing her all night, leaving her utterly exhausted. She finally fell asleep, drained.

She was supposed to return to Khagend today, but with the Russell family's private jet at her disposal, she didn't bother setting an alarm. By the time she woke up, it was already noon. After washing up and eating, it was 2:00 PM.

"Let's go," Felicia said.

She exchanged goodbyes with Imogen, who walked with her to the airstrip. "Come back anytime," Imogen reminded her warmly.

Felicia gave Stephan a quick glance before boarding the plane with Scarlet. But just as they were about to step onto the aircraft, something caught Felicia's attention. From the other end of the airstrip, a strong beam of light flashed several times. Felicia instinctively looked and spotted someone on the mountain road holding up a mirror, using the sunlight to signal. That person was Johanna.
