Listen to this chapter:

Dexter paused, sighing deeply. "It's not that I want this marriage, but Mr. Lawson Senior is awfully determined. He won't budge; he only wants Licia as his granddaughter-in-law. There's nothing I can do. You can't expect me to sever ties with him, can you?"

Sebastian fell silent. Matthew's willingness to threaten the Fullers into agreeing to the marriage demonstrated his unwavering resolve. But a crucial question remained: What about Felicia made Matthew so adamant about her marrying Arnold? Why such forceful tactics?

"Don't you find it strange, Dad? Why is Mr. Lawson Senior so fixated on this marriage? What exactly does he see in her?" If it were solely about family background, many other powerful families would be more suitable matches for the Lawsons. Furthermore, Felicia's upbringing, after being swapped at birth, was far from comparable to those of noble families; she possessed no comparable advantages. While Felicia was undeniably beautiful, the prestigious Lawsons wouldn't base such a decision solely on appearance.

Dexter nodded, sharing his uncertainty. "Who knows what's going through his mind? But Licia did save his life when she returned. Perhaps he's trying to repay that favor."

The idea that Matthew would force Felicia into a marriage where she'd be caught between Arnold and Kayla hardly seemed like gratitude.

Sebastian's lips twitched. "That sounds more like revenge."

Their conversation ended with Myra entering the study, noticing the shattered vase. She instructed the maids to clean up the mess. Once this was done, she offered, "Sebastian, the kitchen prepared your favorite baked fish. Would you like some?"

"No, thank you. I already ate on the way back," Sebastian replied, lowering his gaze. He now understood Felicia's suggestion to eat at a restaurant before returning home. He'd initially thought her a picky eater; now it was clear the home atmosphere would ruin her appetite.

Leaving the study, Sebastian overheard a maid mocking Felicia, implying her insignificance now that Kayla had his support. This blatant disrespect within the Fuller residence indicated Dexter and Myra's disregard for Felicia. Without their tacit approval, no maid would dare to insult her. Sebastian's expression darkened.

(Chapter 75)

Holly, mid-tirade, looked up and saw Sebastian. Dropping her broom in terror, she scattered the vase fragments she'd just swept. "Mr. Fuller..."

"Pack your things and leave. The Fuller family doesn't need employees who insult their employers," Sebastian's tone was glacial. He warned the other maids that gossiping would result in dismissal.

Holly panicked, pleading for another chance, promising to never repeat her offense. But Sebastian remained impassive, his lean figure exuding icy indifference. Holly burst into tears. This wasn't her first such comment, and it hadn't been a problem before; she hadn't expected such harshness. "Why is Mr. Fuller doing that? Shouldn't he be protecting Ms. Kayla? Isn't a sibling bond of over a decade more important than some outsider who was just recently brought back?"
