The man on the bed sighed in relief at Felicia's assurance. The treatment complete, the group quickly left the room.

On the way out, Felicia turned to Clive. "This time, I want half the consultation fee. Any objections?"

Clive burst out laughing. "No objection at all. I'd even give you the full amount."

Felicia raised an eyebrow. Her expression remained cool and composed. "That won't do. I only did half the work, so I'll only take half the fee."

She walked past Arnold without a glance, seemingly ignoring his presence.

Only after they left the hotel did Clive realize, "Wait a minute. What was Arnold doing here?"

"No idea," Felicia replied.

"Licia, I heard you two are getting engaged. That boy's no good. Marrying him would be nothing but trouble."

Felicia smiled lightly. "Don't worry, Grandpa. This engagement isn't happening."

Matthew, also known as Mr. Lawson Senior, had threatened to drag her to the wedding if necessary, but what if Arnold backed out? With one week until the engagement party, anything could happen. She had a backup plan. She'd rather marry almost anyone else than be tied to Arnold again. She'd suffered enough in her previous life and wouldn't repeat those mistakes.

Clive didn't press further. He handed her the $250,000 consultation fee.

Time permitting before lunch, Felicia suggested, "Grandpa, you should head back. I need to go to the bank."

She also needed to cash Stephan's million-dollar check before it expired.

Clive nodded and left. Felicia went straight to the bank and transferred all her money to another accountโ€”the two million from treating Hubert, the six million from the Chavezes, and the $250,000. Soon, the receiving account holder replied: "Thank you."

Felicia exhaled, feeling lighter. However, when she tried to cash Stephan's check, she was told the handwriting was damaged and stained, rendering it invalid. The blood from her struggle with Kayla had smeared a crucial part of the check, voiding it. This meant she had to contact Stephan again.

Felicia frowned, caught in a dilemma. She didn't want to lose the money, but she didn't want to deal with Stephan. A million dollars, though!

Pragmatism prevailed. She carefully put away the check, hailed a cab, and gave the address of Stephan's mansion.

The sprawling estate was eerily quiet, just like last time. No bodyguards or extra maids were visible. Felicia knew better than to trespass. She had been there twice beforeโ€”once to treat Stephan's wound, once when he saved her and flew her back to Khogend. Despite the peaceful appearance, who knew how many guards were hidden?

After what felt like an eternity, an elderly butler, William Wayne, opened the gate. After explaining her purpose, she waited while William relayed her message. He returned shortly. "Apologies, Ms. Fuller, but Mr. Russell says he won't see you."
