Chapter 118

“Only narrow-minded people like you would think that way. Since I started managing the Decania Group for Isabel, I've had no interest in dealing with the Clyde Group.”

“Isabel had me support the Clyde Group, tidying up your messes. Aren’t you aware of that? You and your father have no talent for business. Isabel has been the one supporting you.”

“If Isabel can lift you from being nobodies, she can also bring you down. The Clyde Group isn’t anything special, and instead of being thankful, you treat Isabel like this. You’re heartless and ungrateful! ” Chris said.

Lucian, pinned to the ground, was speechless. He couldn’t believe Chris’s words. “No. It’s not true. How could Isabel be the owner of the Oceania Group?”

“She grew up in a poor environment. How could she have so much power? You’re lying!” Lucian exclaimed.

Chris kicked him, then retrieved a document from his car. “Open your eyes and see—isn’t this Isabel’s signature?”

Lucian’s eyes widened at Isabel’s signature. He thought, If Isabel and Chris only had a physical relationship, she couldn’t have any involvement with the company. How could her signature be on company documents? Could it mean Isabel is behind the Oceania Group? At that moment, Lucian felt his world crumbling.

“Do you see it now? You fools! You didn’t appreciate the good things while you had them. Now it’s too late.”

“Isabel is a blessing, not a curse. Wherever she goes, she brings good fortune. Look at the Galvez family—they’ve turned things around. And the Clyde family is crumbling, all because of you!” Chris spat.

Lucian, battered and bruised, felt profound regret. Isabel was the true powerhouse all along.

“Isabel, let’s go!” Chris said.

Isabel turned, quietly observing the bruises on Chris’s face. “Are you alright?”

Chris smiled. “I’m fine, Isabel. Don’t worry, I didn’t want you to dirty your hands with someone like that. I’ll handle it.”

At the hospital, Rosy cared for Caius. He’d suffered a stroke, leaving him almost completely paralyzed. He could think and speak, but his body was unresponsive. He also had heart problems.

“How are things at home?” Caius asked weakly.

“It’s the same. Amelia went to the Galvez family and abandoned us.” This broke Rosy’s heart. She’d always cherished her children.

“We shouldn’t have taken Amelia back,” Caius said. “She’s so ungrateful.”

“Don’t talk like that. No matter what, she’s still our daughter,” Rosy insisted.

Then, Lucian stumbled in, his face injured, shocking Rosy. “Lucian, what happened to you?”

Lucian remained silent, but the blood on his lips intensified Rosy’s worry. “Who did this? What trouble did you get into?” she asked, her voice full of concern.

“It was Chris,” Lucian admitted, defeated.

“Chris? Why did you go to him? Hoping he’d help the Clyde family? He won’t! Why so naive?” Rosy exclaimed.

“I wasn’t looking for him. I just saw him with Isabel,” Lucian said, looking upset. “Mom, did you know? Isabel and Chris are together.”

“That little witch Isabel! It’s her fault the Clyde family is in this mess!” Rosy said, filled with hatred.

“No, what I meant was… the owner of the Decania Group is Isabel, not Chris,” Lucian clarified.

Chapter 119

Rosy and Caius were shocked. “What did you say? The person behind the Decania Group is Isabel?”

“Yes, we’ve all been fooled,” Lucian replied.

“How is this possible? She’s nineteen! How could she have founded such a big company?” Rosy asked.

“It’s true. I saw it myself. I never expected Isabel to be so…hidden,” Lucian said.

Rosy was stunned. Isabel has such a great background. If I’d treated her better… she thought. I even kicked her out!

“Isabel, Isabel,” Caius suddenly called out.

“Honey, what is it?” Rosy asked.

“Isabel… let Isabel come back. She’s my daughter. I’ve regretted it for so long. Isabel… my daughter,” Caius pleaded.

Rosy was speechless. Caius was agitated, his words broken, but his wide eyes showed his longing to find Isabel.

“It’s too late. Isabel won’t come back. Let go of that hope!” Rosy sighed. “The fortune teller’s words came true. I only regret not killing Isabel sooner. The Clyde family is ruined by her. She’s a curse.”

Isabel returned to the Golden Villa. She heard Amelia’s sobs. “Why haven’t you left yet? Aren’t your injuries healed?”

“Jack, I have nowhere else to go. Please don’t kick me out. I can clean and help. I’m begging you!” Amelia cried.

“Alright, enough crying. Where’s that feisty attitude you used to have?” Jack said, displeased. He remembered Amelia’s fiery spirit during her time with the Galvez family, but he and Boy had indulged her youthful exuberance.

After scolding her, his expression changed. “Isabel, you’re back!”

“Yeah, Jack, what’s wrong?” Isabel asked.

“Amelia refuses to leave. We can’t kick her out,” Jack replied.

Isabel whispered, “Jack, how’s the investigation going?”

“The car accident? It was an accident, not something Amelia set up. It seems she really saved our mom’s life. Otherwise, security would’ve thrown her out already,” Jack replied.

“Let’s wait it out. Once Amelia shows her true colors, we’ll kick her out,” Isabel said.

Jack nodded. “By the way, Isabel, I’ve been thinking… I want to leave the game company and start my own.”
