Chapter 126

Everyone paid even closer attention to Isabel. "What does it matter?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"It's nothing much," Yvette said condescendingly. "Just that yesterday I already told everyone to dress a bit more formally. This is such an important occasion; I hope you can be like the rest of us."

Isabel snorted. "Does wearing this make me any different from you? Does it mean I'm not human?" She crossed her arms.

"I don't see how I'm any different from you. It's just dinner, and besides, there's no rule on this cruise ship that says people have to wear formal attire, right?"

Yvette's expression softened, taken aback.

Jocelyn chimed in, defending Yvette, "Hey, Isabel, Yvette was only trying to help you look your best. Why are you being so rude?"

Isabel's gaze landed on Jocelyn, Yvette's loyal follower. "Whether I look good or not has nothing to do with her," she retorted. "She should mind her own business!"

"That's so ungrateful! Isabel did it on purpose," someone muttered.

"Isabel never comes to our gatherings. This time, forcing her to come, she must be holding a grudge and deliberately trying to upset Yvette," another voice added.

"Really, some people just don't appreciate kindness!"

"Look at what Isabel's wearing—she probably doesn't even have a single fancy dress!" The whispers continued.

Everyone seemed to be targeting Isabel, judging her harshly. Amara couldn't stand by and watch anymore. "Don't talk nonsense! Isabel wears what she likes; why should she cater to your preferences? She hasn't provoked any of you, so why do you keep attacking her!"

"Amara, too much licking the boots, and you really become a dog," someone jeered.

"What did she give you? That you defend her everywhere?"

Amara, frustrated, argued with them. Seeing the situation escalate, Yvette quickly intervened. "Everyone, please stop. We're here to have fun tonight. We're all classmates, let's not fight. Let's just move on from what happened earlier. I was just trying to help. Ms. Grove is almost here—let's go into the private room. I've prepared a wonderful dinner for everyone!"

Persuaded by Yvette, they ceased arguing; after all, they were there to have fun. One by one, they entered the private room.

"Yvette instigated everything on purpose and now she's pretending to be nice. Such a two-faced person!" Amara grumbled, still upset.

"You know it," Isabel comforted her. "You didn't need to waste words with them earlier. After graduation, we'll all go our separate ways and likely never cross paths again." With that, she and Amara headed into the private room.

After dinner, Isabel planned to leave. Inside the private room, Emma Grove was already present. The room was luxurious, and many students, seeing such opulence for the first time, excitedly took photos.

Beside Yvette, Jocelyn spoke. "Everyone, this is the best private room Yvette booked for us on the cruise; it's on the top deck. There's also an outdoor terrace where we can enjoy the night view. This luxury private room isn't easy for just anyone to book!"

Jocelyn's words were followed by immediate praise for Yvette.

"Yvette is amazing!" someone exclaimed.

Another person chimed in, "I mean, booking a private suite like this—no, just getting on this cruise isn't something anyone can do."

"How so?" asked a listener.

"Haven't you heard? This cruise belongs to the Jovian family. It's famous nationwide; its cruises are always in high demand! Not just anyone can get a reservation!"

"No wonder Yvette has such good connections," they added, giving Yvette an admiring look.

At that moment, Yvette said, "Actually, getting this private room was thanks to Raymond Scon. He helped me find the way."

As she spoke, a young man entered, dressed in a tuxedo. This was Raymond, who had once harbored feelings for Isabel but was rejected. To everyone's surprise, he was now with Yvette.

"Today, Raymond knew about our gathering and wanted to join in on the fun. I hope no one minds," Yvette asked lightly.

"Of course not! Raymond and Yvette are such a perfect match!" Jocelyn led the cheer, sparking agreement.

Raymond, the school's heartthrob, made quite a pair with Yvette. His arrival was met with enthusiasm.

"I've already instructed the waitstaff to bring the dishes. Let's start eating, and afterward, we can head to the terrace for some fun. There's a music party there, and on the second floor, you can watch plays. Apart from these, other activities will require a fee. If anyone is interested, you can pay as you go," Yvette announced.

Everyone looked forward to the evening's entertainment. They knew the cruise offered many activities and were eager to experience them.

The dishes arrived, each upscale—fitting for a cruise ship, surpassing even five-star hotels. The Jovian family's cruise catered exclusively to the wealthy.

"Isabel, look at that lobster; I've never seen anything like it," Amara whispered.

"This lobster isn't very fresh," Isabel remarked.

"How do you know?" Amara asked.

Isabel met Amara's gaze calmly. "I can see it," she replied.

The waiter brought several bottles of wine. One student who knew wines commented, "I recognize this brand—it's expensive, costing thousands per bottle!"

"I can't believe I'm actually getting to taste such an expensive wine," another student marveled.

Emma voiced concern to Yvette. "Yvette, is the budget enough for such expensive wine?"

Many would be hesitant to contribute extra money. Only a few families in the class could afford such extravagance.

"Don't worry, Ms. Grove," Yvette smiled. "This wine isn't included in today's meal expenses. Raymond and I will take care of it. Everyone can eat and drink freely—everything is arranged."

"Wow, Yvette is so nice!"

"Yes, this is what a class officer should be like, thinking of everyone."

"It seems Yvette's family must be wealthy. Even the dress she's wearing looks expensive."

Students whispered. Amara asked, "Isabel, do you know what Yvette's family does? She seems so rich."

"Who knows," Isabel said indifferently. She wasn't interested in gossip. However, she remembered Blake mentioning that Yvette's parents had divorced. Although the Sanders family ran a business, it seemed Yvette and her mother weren't favored. Their life might not be as glamorous as Yvette portrayed.

While everyone enjoyed their meal, the cruise manager suddenly opened the door.

"Sorry to bother you all, but there's something I need to inform you. We have a VIP guest arriving and will need everyone to move to the private rooms downstairs," the manager announced, shocking everyone.

"Why? This suite was booked by us first!" Yvette protested.
