Chapter 199
Quentin had a filthy reputation in social circles. No matter how sleazy or scandalous, he never said no to a good-looking woman.
Still, the Coley family was happy with Daniella. Even though she'd acted stupidly out of jealousy for Abigail, and it turned out she wasn't Gabrielโs real daughter, what did that matter? The Gibson family had raised Daniella for years and spent a fortune on her. Her reputation might be rotten, but she was still better than most other heiresses.
After Gabriel left, Daniella gave Quentin a soft smile. โI have no standing in the Gibson family now. They all worship Abigail. Even so, you still want to marry me?โ
โYour dadโs a total opportunist. Youโre better off marrying me. My family might not be perfect, but we wonโt pinch pennies with you.โ As he spoke, Quentin reached out and took her hand on the table.
Forcing down her disgust, Daniella turned her hand to hold his. Her eyes welled up at once as she poured out her troubles. โThe Gibson family thinks I owe them now. They canโt wait to get rid of me. They hate me so much that they wonโt even let me have a phone. I had to turn in all my cards. Iโm practically broke.โ
โThatโs rough,โ Quentin said, though he had no plan to give her money easily.
Before they ate, Gabriel had pulled him aside and warned that Daniella was tricky. The Gibson family had taken her phone and money because they were afraid sheโd take off if she had them.
Quentin was sick of his family hounding him to get married. All the pretty, talented women wanted nothing to do with him. The unattractive ones, the ones whoโd had plastic surgery or slept around, swarmed around him like flies. Even though he was a sleaze, he still wanted an aristocratic bride who was clean. That was why Daniella was the perfect pick.
Looking at him, Daniella asked, โCould you buy me a cheap phone? Maybe around 300 dollars?โ
โYou can just use my phone if you need one. Why buy some cheap piece of crap? Tell me who you want to call, and Iโll dial for you.โ Quentin wasnโt dumb. Heโd memorized every word Gabriel said. The fact that a teenage girl could tamper with a DNA report showed exactly how conniving she was. Daniella hadnโt realized that for all his horniness, Quentin was so hard to trick.
She pulled her hand back and forced a proper smile. โI need to call Chris to come pick me up. The food here is disgusting.โ
Quentin took out his phone but didnโt hand it over, grinning. โGuess the food doesnโt meet your high standards, but I like it just fine. Youโre not a Gibson heiress anymore. If I served you slop, youโd still have to eat it, wouldnโt you?โ
Daniellaโs smile vanished in an instant.
Quentin didnโt care about her reaction. Leaning back in his chair, he kept mocking her. โYour old man said the Gibson family wanted nothing to do with you. I bought you for 700 thousand dollars, so cut the holier-than-thou act. Want a 300-dollar phone? No problem. I can find a clean hooker for 600 dollars a night. Iโll give you 600 dollars for the phone, but you have to come to my hotel room later.โ His words were merciless, pure insult.
Daniella had been bullied at Gibson Villa, even by the maids. Now the guy whoโd sworn to marry her and treat her well was comparing her to a prostitute?
She snatched a plate off the table and slammed it right onto Quentinโs head. โYeah, the Gibson family kicked me out, but Iโm not some dirty tramp. Youโre a two-timing sleaze. Just sitting here with you was a favor. Me, acting holier-than-thou? Look at yourself. Youโve slept with half the women in town. What right do you have to judge me?โ
Quentinโs face turned purple with rage. He didnโt care about the shocked stares around them.
Grabbing a handful of her hair, he slapped her hard across the face. โYou fucking whore. Your dad sold you to me for 700 thousand dollars. You think you can hit me? Iโll make your life a living hell!โ
Daniellaโs scalp burned as she clung to the chair, screaming at the top of her lungs. โSomeone help! Heโs a predator. Call the cops! He attacked so many girls. Please, someone do something. Iโd rather die than marry this piece of garbage. Does he really think a measly 700 thousand dollars could buy my dignity? What a joke,โ she thought.
The entire restaurant stared at the commotion.
Mortified, Quentin swiped the food off his face, shoved her away, and hissed, โYouโre gonna pay for this, bitch.โ
