Chapter 209

Stephen looked like he'd just heard the world's funniest joke, his face tonally alight with the, "Thee no pot centimeter fรผr die Hil diri kave love here?"

"Have I ever been anything but good to her?" Bianca asked Christian.

Then she sighed. "Do your thing for her. I won't stop you. But one day, you'll see she won't give a shit about your kindere."

She'd finally realized Daniella only ever looked out for number one.

Maybe it started the day Abigail came back.

Their love never calmed her childhood fears. Instead, sheโ€™d let a monster grow inside.

"Yeah, you can coddle her all you want. I'm out." Stephen stood up and left.

Stephen and Christian used to be Daniella's shadows, inseparable.

Now Stephen treated Christian like a stranger.

After Daniella attacked the maid, Gabriel told the staff to deliver her meals, but no one budged.

"Cathy's in the hospital," one maid said. "We ain't risking that."

Another muttered, "Is Ms. Daniella Gibson losing it?"

Gabriel scowled. "Knock it off. Just leave the tray at the door and shout."

"I'll go," a young, pretty maid piped up.

"Fine. I'll increase your pay by 100 dollars a month. Good?" Gabriel felt screwed.

"Thanks to Daniella, we have to kiss the maids' asses," he thought.

"Thank you, sir." The maid grinned.

At lunch, after the whole Gibson family finished eating, the young maid carried the tray to the attic, repeating Cathyโ€™s words in her headโ€“"No cameras up here. We can do whatever."

When the maid set the tray by the door, she called out to Daniella inside. "Food's here."

The second the words left her mouth, she kicked the tray over.

Daniella came out to find the meal spilled everywhere, and her temper exploded.

So the maids couldn't mess with me to my face anymore. Now they are pulling stunts behind my back, she thought.

She'd been starving, and now there was nothing to eat.

But she wasn't about to beg, so she slammed the door and stalked back into the room.

That evening, Gabriel had just walked in when he heard the maids gossiping.

"As soon as I put the lunch down, she kicked the tray over. Total waste. The kitchen lady felt bad for her and even snuck her a roasted chicken wing, but she didnโ€™t give a damn," one said.

Another piped up, "What do you expect? She's a heiress. After Mr. Gabriel Gibson didnโ€™t take her side over Cathy yesterday, of course, sheโ€™s giving him the cold shoulder."

Gabriel heard every word, a vein pulsing in his temple.

"What the hell are you jabbering about? Get back to work!" he roared, marching toward them.

The maids scattered like flies.

Gabriel flopped onto the couch, tore off his tie, and seethed in silence. Suddenly, he barked, "Go get Ruth from the kitchen!"

A maid scurried off to fetch her.

Seconds later, Ruth Bishop shuffled out of the kitchen, eyeing Gabriel nervously with a puzzled look.

"Who the hell told you to sneak Daniella a chicken wing? You must have balls of steel to play favorites. You want to get fired?" Gabriel exploded.

Ruth kept her head bowed, stammering apologies. "It won't happen again, Mr. Gabriel Gibson."

Gabriel sized her up, sneering, "Youโ€™re a maid feeling sorry for a spoiled brat? Save that pity for yourself."

Ruth turned bright red, wishing the floor would swallow her, but she was seething inside.

"No more food for Daniella tonight. Anyone who gives her so much as a crumb gets their legs broken," Gabriel roared.

The words were barely out of his mouth when Christian walked in from outside.

Too hurried to kick off his shoes, he charged in yelling, "Why cut off her food? She's already eating garbage. Now you want to starve her?"

"Will missing a couple of meals kill her? When she photoshopped those dirty pics of Abigail and got us to lock Abigail up, Abigail starved too. Besides, she kicked over today's tray. Whose fault is that? Are our meals trash for her to toss around?" Gabriel shot back.

Christian has gone off the deep end. First Daniella went bonkers, now him! Gabriel thought.
