Chapter 36  Actually, Cornell Group had been in financial trouble for quite some time due to the mismanagement of Jeremiah’s father, Quinton.  Quinton was determined to continue the partnership so that he could discreetly siphon off the funds from the project. Cornell Group would be safe while the Browns would have to plug this financial black hole.  I only found out the truth after the incident had occurred in my previous life.  How could I possibly let my family tall into this trap again?  Everyone present seemed surprised when I suddenly appeared. When Jeremiah saw me, his expression darkened. He clenched his fists tightly, trying to suppress his rage.  He shot a glare at me. “Dad, forget about the partnership. I only have one request, which is to divorce Jane as soon as possible!”  bet  I fully expected his response. A prideful person like Jeremiah naturally could not accept being cheated on. Only by divorcing me would he be able to save what little dignity he had left.  “No! Where’s your backbone? It was Jane who cheated on you, and now, they suddenly want to end our cooperation! How can the Cornells take this lying down?” Quinton shouted  He slammed the contract onto the table and looked at my father. “Timothy, think carefully who’s at fault here. Let’s talk things through while I still have some patience left in me. Otherwise, don’t blame me if things turn ugly!”  It was a clear threat from Quinton. Dad’s brows furrowed tightly, but his face held a hint of hesitation.  Mom tried to break the tension. “I agree that Jane was in the wrong. We can reconsider the issue of cooperation,” she said carefully.  “Mom, there’s no need to reconsider anything. The Westin project is important, and there’s nobody more suitable to be a partner in this than Cornell Group, Jack suddenly chimed in. He looked up at me briefly with a slight look of disapproval  “When the project was abruptly canceled before, it caused major delays. Jane doesn’t understand a thing about doing business, so how could you listen to her? Since there’s a chance to reinstate the partnership today, let’s quickly sign the contract.”  With that, Jack took the contract and was about to hand it to Dad when I snatched it out of his hand.  Jack lost his temper and stood up immediately. “Jane, the entire family is cleaning up your mess! What are you trying to do now?”  up the contract without hesitation to the shock of everyone present. “We must never work together with Cornell Group again, or our family will be doomed,” I said deliberately,  I turned to look at Quinton and smirked coldly. “You’re so anxious to work with the Browns because you want to siphon off our money, right?” I directly questioned  Quinton’s face turned red with anger. He slammed the table with force and stood up. “What the hell are you talking about?” he roared.  I immediately took out a stack of documents from my bag and threw it onto the table. I boldly faced Quinton. “This is proof of Cornell Group’s financial mismanagement and project losses over the years. Why don’t you take a good look?”  I had been busy recently, using large amounts of money to have investigators search and compile evidence of Cornell Group’s mismanagement that resulted in losses of tens of millions.  The Westin project’s initial funding was 200 million, which was what they would need to plug their financial black hole.  The documents also contained evidence of Cornell Group’s tampering in the early stages of the Westin project. Even an idiot could understand what Quinton was trying to do.  Quinton and Jeremiah were stunned. It seemed like they did not expect me to suddenly produce all this evidence. Panic flashed across their faces.
