A netizen exclaimed, "Holy crap! You guys must have a hero complex! Where do all these hypocrites come from?"
Another added, "I almost laughed myself to death. Samson's mistakes aren't insignificant; they're enough to land him in jail. How can they be considered petty?" Someone remarked, "You can't repay evil with good."
Someone wrote, "Evangeline gave Samson a chance. She forgave him and saved his life, but she was singled out for even worse treatment and received double the insults. She doesn't owe him another chance."
Another added, "Those hypocrites ignored what the reporters just said. If Samson were upright and kind, he would never have harmed Evangeline, even if encouraged by Meghan. His desire to kill her because of others' statements proves his lack of kindness."
Another replied, "That's right. Normal people wouldn't kill someone just because others asked them to, even if the order came from their father."
The live audience argued amongst themselves. Onstage, Samson looked at Evangeline sincerely and said with regret, "Evangeline, I'm sorry for what I did. I will make amends in the future. Can you forgive me and give me a chance?"
Everyone on stage looked at Evangeline. She looked at Samson indifferently and said, "If you made a mistake, go to jail. Why are you begging me? Besides, I severed ties with the Gallagher family long ago. Watch your mouth, and don't disgust me."
Samson stiffened, and the light in his eyes dimmed. He seemed dazed and devastated. He tried to speak, but Evangeline's cold gaze silenced him.
After questioning Meghan and Samson, reporters turned their attention to Jolene, Travis, and Kendrick.
A reporter asked Jolene, "Evangeline gave you food—an act of kindness. Why did you betray her and tarnish her reputation? Do you realize the consequences if your smear campaign succeeds? You accused her of murder; even if Samson isn't dead, it's still attempted murder. Is this how you repay her kindness?"
The reporter then turned to Travis: "Do you think a cooperation opportunity is more important than a person's innocence?" And to Kendrick: "You've achieved so much. Staying grounded could lead to global success. Why did you sacrifice your conscience for petty profits?"
Another person added, "Aren't you three grateful to Evangeline?" Others asked, "How would you rate your betrayal?" and "Do you realize that after Evangeline fed you, the audience forgave you for bullying her with Samson and Meghan? You had a chance to rebuild your reputation, even become more famous, but you threw it away." A reporter added, "Repeatedly going astray suggests questionable morals. It was Evangeline's credit that you appeared normal for a while." Another asked, "You might not be able to continue your career in the entertainment industry. What would you like to say?"
Jolene, Travis, and Kendrick looked dejected and kept their heads down, regretting their actions. It was too late.
Jolene knelt, sobbing, "Evangeline, I'm sorry. I didn't dare oppose the Gallagher family. My greed made me agree to slander you. I betrayed your kindness"
Travis and Kendrick didn't kneel but lowered their heads.
10:30 AM
Travis said, "Evangeline, I'm sorry. I'm willing to make amends. Can you forgive me?"
Kendrick said, "I thought Meghan and Samson wouldn't let you go, even if I disagreed. As your family, netizens would believe them. Even if I didn't slander you, your reputation would be ruined. By helping them, I avoided worse results for you and got the opportunity I dreamed of. I've suffered and feel sorry. I don't ask for forgiveness, but I want to make it up to you. Please give me a chance."
Evangeline, arms crossed, said indifferently, "I don't accept your apologies."
The three paled, their bodies shaking with remorse and shame.
A netizen said, "Evangeline did a good job! She shouldn't forgive those who hurt her." A fan remarked, "I love Evangeline so much! She didn't let me down!" Someone said, "Why expect forgiveness after hurting others? They should be prepared to never be forgiven, condemned in their hearts!" Someone else commented, "I think Evangeline is a little unforgiving. One should be generous, especially as a woman. She can't hold onto others' mistakes."
Someone said, "Kendrick has a point. Meghan and Samson wanted to slander Evangeline. Even if he didn't help, the result wouldn't be different. Evangeline shouldn't blame him."
Another added, "Yes, Travis and Kendrick are wrong, but not unforgivable. They should be given a chance. Evangeline is too narrow-minded. Who dares marry such a woman?" A netizen retorted, "You guys are generous. May you meet people like Travis and Kendrick. Besides, you're not marrying Evangeline. Stop worrying."
Reporters turned their attention to Evangeline.
A reporter asked, "Evangeline, what do you want to say about your experience?" Others asked, "Will you forgive Samson?", "Why are you so good at fighting? What did you do before returning to the Gallagher family?", and "Are you in a normal state of mind?"
Evangeline remained calm until the question about her mental state, at which point her face darkened. She gave a stern glance, her icy eyes fixed on the reporters, and calmly stated, "I am in good spirits every day!" She then declared, "I have nothing more to add. I've said what I needed to say."
The reporters wanted to ask more, but Evangeline grew impatient. She asked Dallas, "Have you brought the cutter?"
Dallas, sensing her impatience, hurriedly nodded, "Yes. I'll ask someone to bring it."
He instructed staff to bring the iron boxes containing phones and a cutter. He found Evangeline's box and opened it.
Evangeline retrieved her phone.
10:40 AM
Dallas gave her a power bank. Evangeline took it, left the stage, and plugged in her phone.
Reporters swarmed her. One asked, "Evangeline, can we have an exclusive interview?" Another said, "Evangeline, don't leave yet! We have more questions!"
Reporters surrounded her, overwhelming her with microphones. Evangeline, frowning, said, "Move aside. I don't want to be interviewed. I've said what I needed to say."
But the reporters wouldn't let her go. She was a key to attracting viewers; news about her was sensational.
She tried to break through the crowd but couldn't.
A reporter asked, "People worldwide are watching you. Your fan clubs are international. What message do you have for your supporters?" Another asked, "You communicated with monkeys and yellow-throated martens. Do you have special abilities? Can you communicate with animals?" Another chimed in, "People from the Animal Behavior Association want to contact you. Could you share your experiences?" Another asked, "Evangeline, how did you become so powerful?" And finally, "Apart from what we saw on the show, is there anything else we don't know about you?"
Evangeline listened expressionlessly. Suddenly, her body convulsed; she rolled her eyes, stuck out her tongue, screamed, roared, and laughed strangely. She fell to the ground, twitching and rolling, then crawled on all fours like a monster. Everyone was stunned; reporters screamed and scattered.
Evangeline climbed out of the banquet hall. Once outside, she stood, her expression normal. Looking at the stunned crowd, she thought calmly, "Indeed, going mad is the most potent weapon against the world."
