Evangeline swiftly read the latest developments and the public's reaction. 'Edward' she thought. It was difficult for Evangeline not to suspect Edward, as he and Superb Entertainment stood to gain the most from Pamela's death. Pamela hadn't seemed suicidal when she jumped; rather, she appeared to have been left with no choice.

Evangeline realized another crucial detail: Pamela's knife attack was a ruse. The knife never touched her—it was purely for show. Pamela had planned to frame Evangeline by fabricating a conflict before taking her own life. Regardless of the case's outcome, the internet deemed Evangeline a murderer from the moment the incident occurred. Only after her vilification could Edward cultivate a positive image, presenting himself as a humble man atoning for his sister's sins. Had Evangeline died, he wouldn't have had this opportunity.

Evangeline subconsciously suspected Edward; he was the cruelest Gallagher, routinely using others' lives to his advantage. Hurting his biological sister without remorse was typical of him.

Evangeline immediately contacted Arthur, asking him to investigate Pamela's visit to the hotel. She needed to know if Pamela had followed her or if their encounter was coincidental. This would determine if Pamela had intended to frame her.

Arthur, highly efficient, called back within half an hour: "I've had someone look into it. Pamela arrived less than five minutes after you. She told the receptionist she urgently needed the restroom; the receptionist took her to the first-floor restroom. She then went to the eighteenth floor alone. However, the hotel's surveillance cameras were lacking, so there's no record of how she got upstairs." He paused. "She didn't ask about your location, yet she knew exactly which floor you were on. Clearly, she was prepared and familiar with Steven and me, knowing the location of our private room. But Pamela couldn't have known all that independently."

He continued, "Steven also investigated the waitress who splashed you with wine. She confessed to being paid to spill something on you, forcing you to leave. She couldn't identify the person who paid her; he wore a mask and hat."

Arthur added, "Hugo discovered Edward hired internet trolls to manipulate public opinion. Many initially remained neutral, awaiting the police investigation, but the trolls insulted those who supported you, silencing them. The few remaining supportive comments were drowned out." His voice lowered. "The trolls acted swiftly—within three minutes of the incident, they dominated the narrative. If Edward only learned of it afterward, he'd have missed his chance. It's as if he anticipated the event and deployed them immediately."

Evangeline scoffed. "That's him."

Arthur sighed. "We suspect him, but lack conclusive evidence."

Evangeline sneered. "He's cunning; it's expected he wouldn't reveal himself. Further investigation is pointless."

Arthur asked, "Are you letting him go?" He mused, "That's unlike you."

Evangeline faintly smiled. "Stopping the investigation doesn't mean letting him go."

Arthur was confused. "What's your plan?"

Evangeline said, "To kill him!"

Arthur was speechless. Evangeline hung up. He called back, but she didn't answer.

That night, Evangeline, dressed in black sportswear, a baseball cap, and a mask, headed out. An hour later, she scaled the Gallagher residence wall, avoiding security cameras. It was 10 PM, and Edward wasn't home. She listened at his bedroom door; the house was quiet. The Gallagher family wouldn't be in bed this early; perhaps they were visiting Jasper in the hospital for his birthday. But the absence of the housekeepers was odd.

As she was about to return to Edward's room, she heard unusual noises from the third floor—the location of George and Bethany's bedroom and George's study. The sound was a woman's loud moan, but not Bethany's.

Evangeline's eyes flickered; she went upstairs. The voice came from the study. 'Intriguing,' she mused. Although inexperienced, she recognized the sound from videos. 'It's not from a phone or computer. Is George having an affair? The absent housekeepers suggest he sent them away.'

Intrigued, Evangeline entered an adjacent room, climbed out the window, and scaled the wall to the study window, which was ajar. She opened it slightly; the woman's moan masked the sound. Peeking inside, she saw George and Meghan.

Evangeline cursed internally, "This family is rotten." She recorded a high-definition video on her phone, muted it, then removed Edward, Jasper, Samson, and Bethany from her blacklist and sent follow requests. They all accepted.

Edward messaged: "[Evangeline! Aren't you in the police station? How can you use your phone!]"

Jasper texted: "[Evangeline, have you forgiven me!]"

Samson asked: "[Evangeline, did you push Pamela? You're impulsive! Hitting is forgivable, but murder…]"

Bethany texted: "[You bastard! Jas needed amputation because of you! Go to hell! Eddie said you're arrested. How are you contacting me? Did you escape!]"

Evangeline ignored them and started a group chat. Edward, Jasper, and Samson joined, sending question marks. Bethany wrote: "[What the hell are you doing, you ingrate! Go back to the station!]"

Evangeline initiated a group video call, silencing her phone. Their faces appeared on screen. They frowned and looked confused; Bethany appeared irritated. Evangeline, having muted her phone, couldn't hear them, but she didn't care. She switched to the rear camera, pointing it at George and Meghan.

The four faces froze in shock and disbelief. Bethany's face contorted; Evangeline sensed her rage. Bethany broke down, pulling her hair and falling to the ground. Samson went to help, but she pushed him away and ran out. Samson followed. Edward mumbled something to the screen. Evangeline smiled and ended the call.

George and Meghan's encounter continued. Meghan showered him with praise, exciting him. He used a tool to tease her, prioritizing desire over capability.

About half an hour later, the study door burst open. Meghan screamed, hiding in George's arms. Recognizing her mother, her face paled. "M-Mom? Today's Jas's birthday. Didn't you go to the hospital with Eddie and Sam? Why… why are you back so early?" Her voice trembled with panic.
