After the exercise, Evangeline took her folding knife and climbing stick before walking into the forest to hunt for breakfast. She left her equipment where it was, confident that Meghan and her gang wouldn't dare steal it again. If they did, she'd have no problem beating them up.
When the production crew saw Evangeline enter the forest, they immediately ordered the crew hidden there, "Evangeline has left the base. Get ready to steal the tent now! Be careful. Don't leave any traces."
The Jungle Team replied, "Roger that. We'll arrange it right away!"
The Jungle Team, numbering 100 members, hid in secluded spots throughout the forest to deter wild animals. Some quietly followed the participants from afar to ensure their safety; three were stationed near Evangeline.
After receiving instructions, they gathered to discuss stealing the tent undetected. Alpha said, "If the tent disappears, Evangeline will search for it. If she confronts the other participants, she'll realize they didn't take it and become suspicious."
"That makes sense; we can't steal it ourselves," Bravo added.
Charlie was confused. "If we don't steal it, how do we make it disappear?"
Alpha and Bravo exchanged mischievous smiles.
Charlie exclaimed, "Why are you smiling? What's the plan?"
Alpha smiled. "Remember the monkeys we met when we arrived?"
Charlie's eyes widened. "You're suggesting we lure the monkeys here to steal the tent?"
Alpha and Bravo raised their eyebrows. "Exactly!"
Charlie gave a thumbs-up. "Brilliant!"
Alpha contacted the group stationed southwest at the mountain's base, briefing them on the plan: lure the monkeys to steal the tent before Evangeline returned. The other team replied, "Copied that!"
Evangeline was oblivious to the production team's scheme. She searched for prey. After a night, the poultry released by the production team roamed freely. Unlike yesterday, when prey was easily found, she now had to work harder.
Evangeline walked for half an hour before spotting a hen on a haystack. When Evangeline approached, the hen fled. Evangeline found a fresh, warm egg on the haystack and picked it up. One egg wasn't enough, so she continued searching. She'd planned to catch a chicken, but spotted mushrooms instead.
"Chicken's hard to digest in the morning," she muttered. "Egg and mushroom soup for lunch. I'll catch a chicken later."
She collected about two pounds of mushrooms, carefully distinguishing edible from inedible varieties. She cut vines, made a basket, placed the mushrooms and eggs inside, and began walking back. She found three more eggs on her way.
"'I found quite a lot of food today,'" she mused.
Evangeline returned happily, but was stunned. A group of monkeys, at least twenty, were at her campsite, ransacking her tent and bag. The tent and air bed were torn; her belongings were scattered and damaged.
Evangeline froze, her joy replaced by anger. "Where did these monkeys come from? How dare they destroy my tent and luggage!" she thought.
The monkeys bared their teeth and screeched. One grabbed her basket; finding the food unappetizing, they tossed it aside, breaking the eggs.
Evangeline's anger consumed her. "You monkeys, I'm going to kill you all!" she roared, charging at them.
The monkeys bared their teeth, but Evangeline, enraged, lost control. She grabbed a monkey, slapped it, threw it down, and grabbed another. The other monkeys retaliated. Evangeline fought back, even beating the monkey king.
The monkeys were shocked. "She's so powerful! Far fiercer than those humans who drove us up the mountain!" they communicated.
The monkey king signaled a retreat. Evangeline, furious, chased them, her speed surpassing theirs.
"Oh, what a terrifying human! Run!" a monkey cried. Evangeline almost caught a lagging monkey, but fell. The monkeys jeered.
Her fury intensified. She crawled swiftly, then, mimicking the monkeys, swung from vine to vine, even more skillfully than they did.
The monkeys were terrified. "What is she, a monkey? A monster! Run!"
The live room audience was stunned.
[The production team is shameless! They lured the monkeys to destroy Evangeline's stuff!] [Evangeline is berserk! She's scary when angry!] [Evangeline is impressive! Her survival skills are amazing!] [She's more impressive than a special forces member!] [I've never seen a human chase monkeys!] [Evangeline, please beat those monkeys!] [She shouldn't have beaten the monkeys. They're animals.] [Am I the only one worried about Evangeline's mental state?]
A heated discussion ensued. A video of Evangeline crawling and swinging through the trees went viral, making her internationally famous.
At Hofcaster, Arthur, at the Ferdinand Group, noticed his assistant, Gerald, giggling at his phone.
Arthur demanded, "What are you laughing at?"
Gerald, startled, showed Arthur the livestream of Evangeline's "Jungle Survival" show. He mentioned Evangeline's private relationship with Arthur.
Arthur watched the video, shocked by Evangeline's behavior. He frowned, worried.
"Evangeline doesn't seem to be in a normal state of mind," he mused. He instructed Gerald to contact mental health specialists.
Arthur then asked, "What's the name of that variety show?"
Gerald replied, "Jungle Survival."
Arthur searched for "Jungle Survival," watching the livestream and seeing Evangeline's confrontation with Meghan and Samson, feeling happy for her. The livestream had over 300 million viewers, surprising Arthur.
In the forest, Evangeline continued her chase. After three hours, the exhausted monkeys slowed down, but Evangeline remained energetic. She grabbed the monkey king, slapping it.
"You led the monkeys to destroy my things! I won't go easy on you!" she roared.
