Chapter 1058: Compromise

Little Bunny was angry. Tanya, even more upset, erupted, "Who the hell said we were supposed to stay with Mr. Wold? We're staying here tonight, and we're not going anywhere! Take Caroline's things out of here!"

The staff member, embarrassed by the misunderstanding, explained it was the director's instruction. Tanya's outburst left him feeling helpless.

Little Bunny, glancing at the staff member, instructed Tanya, "Call the director and tell him I'm not going anywhere tonight. Let him find another room for Caroline."

Angrily, Tanya dialed the director's number. "Who authorized you to clear out Little Bunny's room? This is outrageous!"

The director responded curtly, "We have limited options; only two guesthouses in town. We booked both, but Mr. Wold's unexpected arrival resulted in one cancellation, forcing us to share rooms."

"What does that have to do with us? Why should she take our room?" Tanya demanded.

"It has everything to do with you! Mr. Wold's visit is the reason. Caroline already has lodging; why should she take resources allocated to others?" the director retorted.

"That's unreasonable! What does Mr. Wold have to do with us being kicked out?"

Little Bunny gestured for the phone. Tanya reluctantly handed it over. Little Bunny spoke directly, "Director, I never agreed to stay at Theodore's. Isn't it excessive to proceed without my consent?"

The director's tone softened slightly. "Please understand. Caroline's current position in the industry is crucial. We convinced her to make a cameo appearance to boost our show's ratings and exposure."

"Caroline's agent just called, requesting a separate room. I couldn't refuse. She's only staying one day," he explained.

"That's your problem," Little Bunny replied firmly, refusing to compromise.

"Little Bunny, why make things difficult? Everyone knows about your relationship with Mr. Wold. He came to see you; you can't possibly accompany him tonight?!" The director pleaded, though still slightly angry about the afternoon's events.

"Just one night. As soon as Caroline leaves tomorrow, I'll ensure your room remains reserved for you," the director offered humbly.

Little Bunny, never having harbored grudges, hesitated. She couldn't stay with Theodore, nor go to his guesthouse. Yet, no one would believe their relationship was platonic. Refusal would only further prejudice the director.

"Little Bunny, it's settled then," the director declared, before she could respond.

Little Bunny agreed, hanging up. Tanya looked anxious. "What did he say?"

"Take our things out," Little Bunny replied.

"What?!" Tanya was stunned.

"I'll wait outside," Little Bunny said, turning to leave.

Tanya, unhappy, packed their belongings with the crew. Outside, Little Bunny anxiously considered their lodging options. Their car? The long journey precluded renting a nanny car; they only had a business car. Would it be cold?

Suddenly, commotion drew her attention. Caroline, surrounded by people, approached. The reception was grand, the director himself greeting her.

Caroline had indeed thrived in showbiz. Little Bunny had once relinquished a role to Caroline, who, with a likeable supporting part, quickly gained popularity. She starred in hit dramas and films, appeared on variety shows, becoming a top star with high fees and significant influence.

Seeing Little Bunny, Caroline rushed to hug her excitedly. "Little Bunny! Long time no see!"

Little Bunny smiled politely, though only she knew Caroline's true feelings. Everyone believed they were close friends.

After that drama, Caroline consistently credited Little Bunny, portraying them as close confidantes. Fans believed their friendship was unshakeable.

Little Bunny had, too, until seeking Caroline's help after her comeback. Caroline, already established, promised assistance. Three months of silence led Little Bunny to inquire, only to overhear Caroline's sarcastic words outside her makeup room: "Little Bunny is too naive. The resources here are limited. Lydia, find her a minor supporting role; something insignificant, to get rid of her."

That shattered Little Bunny's illusions about friendship in the entertainment industry. She never sought Caroline's help again, but found success independently, aided secretly by Susan. Her passion and dedication led to recognition and opportunities.

However, she lacked Caroline's commercial appeal and higher industry status.
