Chapter 1078: Caroline's Scheme

Little Bunny smiled. "Okay, I'll come over later."

She didn't mention Theodore. Caroline, unable to resist, asked, "Why don't you invite Mr. Wold?"

"I'll ask him later," Little Bunny replied, her reluctance evident.

Caroline felt the clear rejection. She hadn't realized Little Bunny's possessiveness toward Theodore was so strong. Was this woman deliberately opposing her? Caroline held back. "Okay, I'll wait for you both then."

"Hmm."

Caroline left reluctantly as Little Bunny closed the door. Theodore, already awake, was smoking by the bedside. He asked who had left.

"Caroline," Little Bunny replied. "She invited me to dinner tonight with some of the crew."

"Are you going?"

Little Bunny nodded, knowing that refusing would fuel rumors.

"What about you? Are you coming?" she asked.

"I'm not feeling up to it today," he replied slowly, rubbing his still-bothering wound.

"Alright then," Little Bunny said, turning to prepare for her departure.

"Take the birth control pill," Theodore instructed, gesturing toward the medicine box beside his phone, which someone had returned earlier.

Little Bunny desperately wanted to ask Louie if he was alive and if his phone had been foundโ€”it might hold a helpful video. But fear of further angering Theodore, after witnessing his cruelty earlier, held her back.

Instead, she took a pill, though she didn't need it. She hadn't slept with Louie. But given Theodore's actions in the bathroom, the pill provided a measure of protection.

Theodore watched her. His mind remained unsettled. The thought of Little Bunny and Louie agitated him.

He suppressed his emotions. Having decided to forgive Little Bunny, he wouldn't mention it again.

Casually, he said, "Let Samson accompany you. I told him to wait at the door."

After taking the pill, Little Bunny was surprised. "He's coming with me?"

"He'll keep an eye on you. Little Bunny, you're mine. I don't allow other men to touch you, especially since you had another man in your bed. From now on, I'll give you money every month." She was formally being financially supported by him.

"How much?" Little Bunny asked, unable to resist knowing her worth to him.

"How much do you want?" Theodore countered.

Little Bunny regretted the question. Too much, and Theodore might be angry; too little, and she'd feel cheated. Under his gaze, she finally said, "Two thousand."

"Two thousand for your monthly expenses?" Theodore frowned.

Just as she was about to revise her request, Theodore said, "Well, the money saved is Nicholas's anyway."

Little Bunny remained silent. "Then I'll leave."

"Don't delay."

"Okay."

Feeling unhappyโ€”after all these years, she was once again under Theodore's controlโ€”Little Bunny left the homestay. Samson, along with Tanya, waited outside.

Tanya was unaware of Samson's presence; Little Bunny hadn't explained. They entered Samson's sedan and drove to the other homestay.

The party was lively. Everyone sat around a long table in the yard, enjoying dinner.

Little Bunny's arrival silenced the gathering; all eyes were on her. Her presence seemed incongruous.

Before she could speak, Caroline pulled her into the crowd.

"By the way, where's Mr. Wold? Will he join us?" Caroline asked.

"He won't come," Little Bunny replied calmly.

"It's alright; he's not convenient. It's good you're here," Caroline said, concealing her annoyance. Little Bunny's presence gave Caroline a chanceโ€”her last, as she was leaving tomorrowโ€”to see Theodore alone.

She couldn't accept Theodore's care for Little Bunny. His kindness after Little Bunny's troubles ignited jealousy. Caroline had initially assumed Theodore treated all women the same, but his attention to Little Bunny suggested a deeper connection. She feared Little Bunny's future success, fueled by Theodore's support, might overshadow her own. To prevent this, she'd become Theodore's mistressโ€”not necessarily his only one, but at least his equal.

Whispering to her agent, Caroline said, "Make sure Little Bunny drinks a little more tonight."

Her agent, surprised, knew Caroline's nature. Caroline's hostility toward Little Bunny was palpable.

Caroline repeated, "Get her drunk."

Her agent nodded; she couldn't afford to offend such a powerful client. Caroline smirked, mentally rehearsing her plan: getting Little Bunny drunk and arranging an encounter with a stranger to create a scandal that would ruin her career and relationship with Theodore.
