Chapter 1183: Addicted to Love

Little Bunny had been back in the Capital for half a month, but Theodore hadn't returned. She called him repeatedly, but he didn't answer. Her messages went unanswered. Little Bunny felt abandoned. Had he already tired of her?

The thought of going to Kensbury City to find him herself even crossed her mind. But that evening, upon returning home from work, she found him sitting on the couch.

"Theodore?" she called.

He turned, murmuring, "Um."

"You're back?" she asked.

"Why haven't you been answering my calls?" she demanded, still angry. His disappearance for half a month without explanation felt inexplicable.

"Something came up," he mumbled, avoiding a direct answer and offering no explanation for his absence. He confessed later that the first time she called, he was bedridden; the second, he was in excruciating pain while changing medication; and the third, he'd fallen while getting out of bed. Every attempt she made to contact him during those two weeks had been thwarted by unfortunate timing. Yet, he hadn't initiated contact. After his lengthy recovery, Theodore questioned whether forcing Little Bunny to remain by his side was worthwhile. Seeing Little Bunny's sacrifice for Addison, he doubted his ability to win her love. This lack of confidence had paralyzed him, preventing him from responding. Finally, he returned, unable to resist the longing to see her. He feared, as always, that he might lose her. He acknowledged his own self-doubt and paranoia.

"Did you have dinner?" she asked gently, knowing he might not want to elaborate on his absence.

"Not yet."

"Me neither. I'll make something," she said, heading toward the kitchen, a surge of happiness washing over her.

Theodore watched her go, a flicker of frustration crossing his face. He wished for more sincerity from her. Rising from the couch, he followed her into the kitchen. Little Bunny smiled as he approached. "I've prepared dinner. What would you like?"

"You," he blurted out impulsively.

Her blush reflected his boldness. She couldn't resist him, but her reluctance had clearly lessened.

"Okay," she murmured, nodding her agreement.

He was surprised by her acquiescence. He enjoyed teasing her; he loved her sweet, obedient nature. Without hesitation, he hugged her from behind, his lips kissing her neck repeatedly, playfully yet insistently.

"Theodore..." she moaned softly, trying to resist.

"Just a little longer," he whispered, nibbling her ear playfully.

Overwhelmed, Little Bunny succumbed to his advances right there in the kitchen. Their intimacy left her feeling breathless and slightly apprehensive about ever facing that room again.

Later, exhausted, they lay in bed.

"Are you hungry?" Theodore asked, holding her close.

It had been half a month since their last intimacy. Little Bunny felt unusually weak, her legs trembling. Fearful of his teasing, she hesitated to answer his question directly.

"What are you afraid of?" he asked, his voice low.

"Nothing."

"Nothing?" he murmured, his lips near her ear.

"Theodore, I'm so tired."

He laughed, pulling her closer. "Let's order some food."

"Alright," she nodded.

"What do you want?"

"Anything."

"Spicy food?"

"Well... I don't eat much anyway. I have to watch my figure."

"Just exercise more, then," he teased, a mischievous grin spreading across his face, making her blush again.

She wondered why he wasn't tired. She'd worried her body was no longer attractive to him; it turned out she'd been overthinking.

The day after Theodore returned to the Capital, he went to work. Oscar had already returned. Theodore had initially planned a week's leave, but Laird had needed him urgently, preventing him from taking time off. He'd hoped to be away only half a month, but it took longer. Oscar suspected Theodore had gotten into trouble with Laird.

"What happened?" Oscar asked.

Theodore mumbled something about forcing Little Bunny to stay. Oscar didn't press him further, noticing Theodore's radiant mood upon returning from work that evening.

"Good mood today? Hannah must have treated you well," Theodore joked, standing at Oscar's office door.

Oscar shot him a cold look. "Mind your own business."

"I heard Manuel made Hannah work at Cooper," Theodore continued, a hint of admiration in his voice. "Sly fox! Now that she's working under your nose, she can't run away!"

Oscar ignored him, continuing to text Hannah, despite her slow responses. A single emoji from her, after his barrage of messages the previous night, was enough to bring a smile to his face. At least she was responding.

"Dinner tonight's on me," Oscar messaged.

He planned to finish work early, go to Kensbury for dinner with Hannah, and return to the Capital afterward.

Oscar put down his phone, knowing Hannah wouldn't reply immediately. He considered her silence an unspoken agreement and returned to his work.

Later, during an afternoon meeting, his phone lit up. A long voice message from Hannah. He clicked play accidentally.

Hannah's loud voice filled the room. The meeting attendees fell silent as her voice echoed through the conference room.
