Chapter 256: Wait for You to Throw Yourself on Me

It was dark and quiet. Hannah was drifting off when Oscar suddenly said, "Don't you want to know why I stopped?"

Startled awake, Hannah took a moment to understand. "You were afraid of reopening your wound," she replied lightly.

Initially disappointed, she wasn't distraught. Oscar was still recovering; strenuous activity risked further injury. Furthermore, Donald had emphasized the wound's proximity to his heart; any accident could be fatal.

"No," Oscar retorted. "I'm waiting for you to throw yourself on me."

Hannah smiled disdainfully. She found a strange comfort in his overconfidence; at least, sheโ€™d retained her virginity. She was fairly certain she would have regretted impulsive sex with him that night, had he not stopped. Even with her casual attitude toward most things, she valued her virginity and wouldn't surrender it lightly, much less to be discarded afterward.

She didn't respond. It was lateโ€”they'd been intimate for some time before he'd stopped, already past two in the morning. She needed sleep; she had a busy day ahead.

Turning her back to Oscar, she settled down to sleep. He couldn't let it go, saying, "Did you feel ashamed to eat your words?"

Hannah frowned. Was he dreaming? What was he talking about?

Oscar pulled her close, saying, "I suddenly feel I don't need to wait for you to throw yourself on me."

Men are liars! she thought.

Hannah stiffened as Oscar touched her. "Oscar!" she exclaimed, furious.

He tried to restrain himself, holding her tightly, but her softness proved too much. "I can't breathe!" she cried.

"I can't help it! We deserve each other, right?" Oscar said.

He's lost his mind! she thought.

Eventually, Hannah fell asleep in his arms, fearing she'd be strangled in her sleep. In a hazy state, she seemed to hear him whisper, "Hannah, I don't want you to regret thisโ€ฆ"

Was she dreaming, or was he whispering? She was too sleepy to tell.

The next day, Hannah's alarm blared. Oscar silenced it. She twisted, rubbing herself against him.

He froze. Who was being tormented now? He took a deep breath, calmed himself, and returned to sleep.

Waking refreshedโ€”better than she'd slept in agesโ€”Hannah looked at Oscar. He was still asleep. She'd expected restless sleep, but to her surprise, she'd slept soundly. She wondered if he felt the same.

A happy smile touched her lips as she gazed at his charming face. His good looks were a significant advantage; women would still throw themselves at him, even knowing his flaws.

She gently touched his nose, marveling at its perfection; even an artificial nose couldn't compare. Her gaze drifted to his lips.

Sometimes, she deliberately avoided his lips. They seemed to possess a magic that drew women in, just as they were doing now.

A second look was all it took. She found herself kissing himโ€”a peck, a gesture of appreciation for beauty, nothing more.

As she pulled away, Oscar held the back of her head, his deep voice murmuring, "I want more."

"Mm," Hannah murmured, her heart leaping. She could still feel his breath on her lips, swollen from last night's kissesโ€”kisses often punctuated by his playful nips. He's crazy! she thought.

"Hannah, you'd better not seduce me this early. I can't guarantee I'll listen every time," he said. "He?" she frowned.

He placed her hand on his lower body beneath the covers.

Hannah blushed crimson. "Oscar!"

He kissed her, saying cheekily, "Shh! He's yours. Take care of him. Don't scare him."

What a shameless bastard! she thought. She was disgusted. Pulling away, she went to the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth.

Oscar watched her go, smiling. He sat up, noticing two missed calls from Theodore, his phone on silent.

He returned the call. "Hello, Theodore!"

"Donald said to take it easy. No sex," Theodore stated flatly.

"Cut the crap! What's up?" Oscar cut him off.

"I've found something on those three companies, and identified those who signed contracts. Should I abduct them and make them testify?"

"Hold your horses! We'll ruin everything if we alert them," Oscar cautioned. "Just watch them. Ensure they don't disappear. Find their wrongdoings, something to make them cooperate in court. I suspect bribery."

"Okay."

"One more thing. Check into Doreโ€ฆ"

"Ah! Oh Godโ€ฆ" Oscar heard a scream.

Hannah, having retrieved her phone, let out a loud scream.

Theodore exclaimed, "Jesus Christ! Was thatโ€ฆa sex scream?"
